The USC Trojans and the LSU Tigers open their seasons Sunday at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET (ABC/ESPN+). Below, we look at USC vs. LSU odds from BetMGM Sportsbook before making our expert college football picks and predictions later in the week.

The Trojans play their 1st official game as a member of the Big Ten Conference after moving over from the Pac-12 Conference.

USC had a tale of 2 seasons in 2023, winning the first 6 games, while looking like a playoff team behind QB Caleb Williams. But the Trojans lost 5 of the final 6 games, and they couldn’t stop anybody defensively. USC allowed 34 or more points in each of the final 8 games, and 28 or more points in 11 of 13 outings.

Williams was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, going to the Chicago Bears, so QB Miller Moss is in line to start the opener, with UNLV transfer Jayden Maiava waiting in the wings if Moss can’t tap into his Holiday Bowl success.

LSU is looking for a 3rd consecutive 10-plus win season in 2024. The Tigers lost Heisman Trophy winning QB Jayden Daniels to the NFL, as he is now with the Washington Commanders. QB Garrett Nussmeier is the next in line, and he has a solid cadre of receivers in Aaron Anderson, CJ Daniels, Chris Hilton, Kyren Lacy and Zavion Thomas. Nussmeier will operate behind one of the better O-lines in the SEC, too.

USC is No. 23 and LSU is No. 12 in the US LBM Coaches Poll — conducted by the American Football Coaches Association and USA TODAY Sports.
