UNLV at Notre Dame odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s UNLV at Notre Dame odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The UNLV Rebels (4-3) and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish (3-3) meet Saturday at Notre Dame Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. ET (Peacock). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the UNLV vs. Notre Dame odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

UNLV was sailing along with a 4-1 SU/ATS through its first 5 games, including a nice 58-27 win over North Texas, unbeaten in Conference USA play, back on Sept. 17. However, the Rebels have been outscored 82-14 in their last 2 losses, bringing back those old feelings of frustration for the fanbase while casting doubt for bettors.

Notre Dame has managed a .500 record through 6 games, as the Marcus Freeman era has certainly gotten off to a rocky start. Home losses as a double-digit favorite against Marshall and Stanford have the Irish faithful up in arms, and potential bettors being very careful with their wagers.

UNLV at Notre Dame picks and predictions

Prediction

Notre Dame 34, UNLV 13

Moneyline

Notre Dame (-10000) will cost you way too much for not very much return. It’s a lot of risk for any heavy favorite, but especially so with an inconsistent team like the Irish playing so-so football.

AVOID.

Against the spread

In normal times, when Notre Dame is playing good football, we’d suggest playing the favorite to win this one going away. However, the Irish are just 1-3 ATS as a double-digit favorite this season, including 2 straight-up losses.

Play just a half-unit on UNLV +27.5 (-115) unless this one manages to go over 28 points, then play it a little heavier.

Over/Under

UNDER 47.5 (-110) is the lean, but go lightly. This could easily get away from the Rebels like the last 2 weekends against Air Force and at San Jose State. The Rebels will struggle to put points on the board in this still difficult place to play, while the Irish have also had their issues on offense for most of the season.

First look: UNLV at Notre Dame odds and lines

Looking at Saturday’s UNLV at Notre Dame college football odds, lines and trends. Here’s what you need to know.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish (3-3) welcome the UNLV Rebels (4-3) to Notre Dame Stadium Saturday. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. ET (Peacock). Below, we look at UNLV vs. Notre Dame odds from Tipico Sportsbook; check back for all our college football picks and predictions.

UNLV is coming into this game following an embarrassing 42-7 loss to Air Force. With a 40-7 loss to San Jose State the week prior, confidence in the Rebels camp likely isn’t high.

UNLV is captained by coach Marcus Arroyo, who came into the season with a 2-16 record as the program’s leader. With 13 total touchdowns, QB Doug Brumfield has been the key player for UNLV.

Notre Dame, on the other hand, after getting destroyed by Ohio State and then taken down by Marshall to start the season, has won 3 of its last 4 games. It has taken down teams like BYU and UNC.

The Fighting Irish are coached by Marcus Freeman, who is in his first season as the team’s top leader. They’ve allowed more than 21 points in just 2 of 6 games this season.

UNLV vs. Notre Dame head-to-head

With UNLV in the Mountain West Conference and Notre Dame independent, it is not shocking that these teams have never met before.

Notre Dame under Freeman, who is a long-time coach on the defensive side of the ball, allows just 22 points per game, ranking 36th of 131 FBS programs. Its offense has done little to help its cause this season.

For UNLV, Brumfield is a stud, but RB Aidan Robbins has also done well, totaling 591 rushing yards. The Rebels are huge underdogs, partly due to being on the road and partly because they haven’t been tested either, ranking 115th in strength of schedule.
