LeBron James asks ‘why doesn’t America love us too?’ as protests rage

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James hasn’t stopped speaking out about violence towards black people as protests rage across the country.

This weekend there has been an eruption of protests throughout the United States, as well as other pockets of the world, in reaction to the killing of George Floyd in Minnesota and the NBA has not been an exception. Jaylen Brown of the Boston Celtics organized a protest through Atlanta on Saturday night that was peaceful, while protests in other parts of the country, such as Portland, Los Angeles, and New York, were met with riot police, curfews, rubber bullets, and tear gas canisters. And while LeBron James got out for a bike ride with his Klutch Sports mates on Saturday, he was up and venting about America’s treatment of black citizens.

A couple of LeBron’s Klutch mates, J.R. Smith and Jordan Clarkson, who joined him on the bike ride, also took to the streets to see the protests on Saturday night, according to Clarkson’s Instagram.

LeBron has been unafraid to use his platform to speak out against racism and racist violence for quite some time. As many in the country are taking to the streets to express their voice, LeBron continues to use his platform to shine a spotlight on the issues that are causing people to take the streets.
