UFC Vegas 49: Ji Yeon Kim vs. Priscila Cachoeira odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s UFC Vegas 49 odds and lines between Ji Yeon Kim vs. Priscila Cachoeira, with MMA picks, tips and predictions.

In a women’s weight fight on the main card, Ji Yeon Kim and Priscila Cachoeira meet Saturday at UFC Vegas 49 – also known as UFC Fight Night 202 – at the UFC’s APEX Facility in Las Vegas. Below, we analyze the UFC Vegas 49: Kim vs. Cachoeira odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

The card can be viewed on ESPN+ with the prelims starting at 4 p.m. ET and the main card at 7 p.m.

Kim takes the walk to the octagon with a seven-inch reach advantage over the Brazilian challenger. She also holds a 5.04-to-3.82 significant strikes landed per minute.

The South Korean fighter is looking to turn things around after a pair of unanimous-decision losses since her KO/TKO win over Nadia Kassem at UFC 243 in Oct. 2019. All four of Kim’s losses at the UFC level have come via decision and just one of her seven bouts has resulted in a finish.

Cachoeira, a.k.a. “Zombie Girl”, is looking to bounce back after getting submitted by Gillian Robertson last time out at UFC 269 in Dec. Her ground game hasn’t been good, going 0-2 via submission in her pro career, both at the UFC level. She is 6-0 via KO/TKO in 14 career bouts, including knockouts of Gina Mazany and Shana Dobson in the UFC. However, this fight represents a big step up in competition.

UFC Vegas 49 Kim vs. Cachoeira: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Records: Kim (9-4-2) | Cachoeira (10-4-0)

Fight result (2-way line or money line)

KIM (-175) is a little pricey, but she is a good bet to bounce back against Cachoeira. The fact she holds such a tremendous reach advantage will keep the challenger Cachoeira at a safe distance.

I think Kim, a.k.a. “Firefist”, has the skills to get it done and score a much-needed win via knockout. However, the better play is taking KIM BY POINTS (+130). It’s still a good value at plus money when you consider the fact just one of her seven fights at the UFC level has resulted in a finish.

Over/Under (O/U)

Play YES: FIGHT TO GO THE DISTANCE (-160), which is a good value based upon Kim’s UFC history, as well as the fact Cachoeira has managed to go the distance in two of her last five fights. She likely will go into this one looking for the knockout, which is her specialty, recording six KO/TKO wins in 14 career professional bouts. However, with a seven-inch reach disadvantage, she won’t be able to get close to Kim.

UFC Vegas 49: Misha Cirkunov vs. Wellington Turman odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s UFC Vegas 49 odds and lines between Misha Cirkunov vs. Wellington Turman, with MMA picks, tips and predictions.

In a middleweight fight on the main card, Misha Cirkunov and Wellington Turman meet Saturday at UFC Vegas 49 – also known as UFC Fight Night 202 – at the UFC’s APEX Facility in Las Vegas. Below, we analyze the UFC Vegas 49: Cirkunov vs. Turman odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

The card can be viewed on ESPN+ with the prelims starting at 4 p.m. ET and the main card at 7 p.m.

Cirkunov heads into this one looking for a turnaround. He has dropped his last two fights while going 2-5 across the past seven bouts. Cirkunov had a split-decision loss to Krzysztof Jotko last time out in Oct. and was knocked out in the first round against Ryan Spann last March.

The slight favorite enters this one with a three-inch height advantage and five-inch reach advantage. He also has posted a 3.77-to-3.04 significant strikes landed per minute, while also holding a 61.94-to-53.44 significant strike accuracy percentage advantage.

To make matters worse for Turman, he isn’t great on the canvas either. Cirkunov holds a 4.48-to-2.22 takedown average, with a 1.68-to-0.56 submission average lead. There is no one area when Turman holds the advantage outside of the youth factor, as he is 25 years old compared to 34 years of age for the favorite. Cirkunov turns 35 years old Sunday.

UFC Vegas 49 Cirkunov vs. Green: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Records: Cirkunov (15-7-0) | Green (17-5-0)

Fight result (2-way line or money line)

It’s a good play taking CIRKUNOV (-130) straight up to win this bout. He holds all of the advantages from significant strikes to his ground game, while also holding a tremendous reach advantage to keep Turman at bay.

The reach advantage is good for Cirkunov, as he’ll be able to keep Turman at a distance. The favorite has lost four fights since May 28, 2017, by KO/TKO, so the fact Turman will have a difficult time getting close to Cirkunov is good news. Turman has also been knocked out twice in the past three fights, so he won’t likely be eager to get too close to Cirkunov, either.

Over/Under (O/U)

Playing CIRKUNOV BY POINTS (+400) is a value play, with a chance to multiply your initial stake by four times. In addition, YES: FIGHT TO GO THE DISTANCE (+135) is also a value at plus-money. Three of Turman’s five fights at the UFC level have ended up needing the assistance of the judges, including a split-decision win over Smilin’ Sam Alvey last time out Aug. 28, 2021. Expect a similar result here.

UFC Vegas 49: Islam Makhachev vs. Bobby Green odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s UFC Vegas 49 odds and lines between Islam Makhachev vs. Bobby Green, with MMA picks, tips and predictions.

In a catch weight fight in the main event, Islam Makhachev and Bobby Green meet Saturday at UFC Vegas 49 – also known as UFC Fight Night 202 – at the UFC’s APEX Facility in Las Vegas. Below, we analyze the UFC Vegas 49: Makhachev vs. Green odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

The card can be viewed on ESPN+ with the prelims starting at 4 p.m. ET and the main card at 7 p.m.

Makhachev, the protege of Khabib Nurmagomedov, was expected to fight Beneil Dariush. However, the latter pulled out, so Green steps in on short notice, and this fight takes place at 160 pounds, or catch weight, rather than lightweight.

The Russian southpaw heads to Vegas with three consecutive submission victories, including a Round 1 win at UFC 267 at Dan Hooker last time out. Five of his last seven fights have finished inside the distance, with four submission wins and a KO/TKO of Gleison Tibau at UFC 220 in Jan. 2018. He has nine straight wins since a loss at UFC 192 in 2015.

Green, a.k.a. “King”, has posted two straight wins, including a unanimous-decision win over Nasrat Haqparast at UFC 271 last time out just two weeks ago. He is 5-4 across his last nine fights, with nine of his last 10 bouts going the distance.

UFC Vegas 49 Makhachev vs. Green: Odds and lines

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated at 7:06 a.m. ET.

  • Fight result (2-way line): Makhachev -1000 (bet $1,000 to win $100) | Green +550 (bet $100 to win $550)
  • Will the fight go the distance? (Yes +230 | No -350)

Exclusive USA TODAY Network offer: Deposit $10 or more, get $200 in instant bet credits at Tipico Sportsbook! New customer offer in CO and NJ. 21+, see Tipico.com for Terms and Conditions. Place your legal, online sports bets at Tipico. Let’s make this interesting. Bet now!

UFC Vegas 49 Makhachev vs. Green: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Records: Makhachev (21-1-0) | Green (29-12-1)

Fight result (2-way line or money line)

It’s uncertain how much energy Green is going to have after just going the distance in a fight two weeks ago at UFC 271. Whatever he does here will be tremendous, but he isn’t likely to push Makhachev very far. Still, laying 10 times your potential return isn’t a good betting strategy.

PASS.

Over/Under (O/U)

Instead of playing a fighter on the 2-way line, look to MAKHACHEV BY SUBMISSION (-127) as a much better value, as Green’s legs are likely to be a bit wobbly after just going the distance with Haqparast two weeks ago.

In addition, it’s a good idea to play a two-round block, with MAKHACHEV IN ROUND 2 (+370) and MAKHACHEV IN ROUND 3 (+600). Yes, you’ll lose one of the ends, but you’ll still be well ahead if the heavy favorite wins in Rounds 2-3.
