Oklahoma is firmly in the running for 2021 guard Trey Alexander

In-state prospect Trey Alexander’s recruitment is heating up, and the Sooners are certainly in the race for the four-star.

The 6-foot-4, 185-pound product out of Heritage Hall is ranked the No. 57 player in the country, and hasn’t let much out about his recruitment thus far.

Arkansas, Kansas, Oklahoma State and TCU are also in the running.

The Sooners are currently the top-ranked contender for Alexander, according to Rivals’ Corey Evans. Oklahoma already has a commitment in three-star guard Bijan Cortes, who is on a travel team with Alexander. The Sooners are also targeting C Daimion Collins, who is on Team Griffin with Alexander.

The Sooners currently have the 61st-ranked class in the country per Rivals, and could use the boost Alexander would give them.

Oklahoma is slated to begin their 2020 season on December 2 against Florida. With the Pac-12 opting to cancel it’s fall season on Tuesday, the Sooners lose an opponent in Washington on December 19.
