Titans signing WR Tre’Shaun Harrison to a futures deal

The Titans have reportedly inked WR Tre’Shaun Harrison to a futures deal.

With the 2023 season now over, the Tennessee Titans will begin signing players to futures contracts as they start putting together their offseason roster.

And it appears they have their first futures signing, with Justin Melo of The Draft Network reporting that the team is inking wide receiver Tre’Shaun Harrison.

A 2023 undrafted free-agent signing of the Titans, Harrison spent the entire season on Tennessee’s practice squad after a solid training camp. However, he didn’t play in a single game during his rookie campaign.

The Titans need a ton of help in their receiving corps., so Harrison will have a shot to grab a back-end-of-the-depth-chart role in training camp, although it’s more likely he’ll be a candidate for the practice squad.

Last offseason, the Titans inked a total of 14 players to futures contracts, so there will be plenty more signings in the coming days and weeks. Of course, we’ll update you with all of the latest moves Tennessee makes.

Updated Titans 53-man roster projection after 1st week of training camp

Our latest Tennessee Titans 53-man roster projection after the first week of training camp includes five newcomers from our last one.

We are through one week of Tennessee Titans training camp and there are already some changes to be made from our last 53-man roster projection.

It has been an interesting camp thus far, with a ton of attention being paid to the quarterbacks, and in particular Will Levis and Malik Willis, both of whom are battling for the No. 2 spot behind Ryan Tannehill.

And, in the case of Willis, he’s battling for a roster spot altogether, although I think he’s done enough so far to keep him around in my latest projection.

A few undrafted rookies have stood out enough to earn themselves a spot here, but, of course, that doesn’t mean they’re completely safe with such a long way to go until final cuts.

Now, our updated 53-man projection based on what happened at training camp the first week. Players with an asterisk are new additions, and we’ve provided a write-up for each.

Note: Nicholas Petit-Frere and Dillon Radunz are not included because the former is suspended for the first six games and won’t count towards the 53-man group, while we expect the latter to start the season on the PUP list.

Titans’ Tre’Shaun Harrison an early standout among bubble WRs

Titans UDFA and WR Tre’Shaun Harrison has become a player to watch after an impressive early showing in training camp.

Throughout the offseason, it seemed like rookie wideouts Kearis Jackson and Jacob Copeland were the undrafted free agent pass-catchers that a lot of Tennessee Titans fans and media (ourselves included) were most excited about.

However, after the first few days of training camp, it appears as if it’s another one of the UDFA wide receivers who largely flew under the radar that has been making the most noise early on.

Tre’Shaun Harrison has been standing out this offseason, and especially on Saturday when he flashed his skill set and had some nice reps in both individual and team periods.

“Undrafted receiver Tre’Shaun Harrison did some good things during the offseason, and he’s carried that over into camp,” Titans beat writer Jim Wyatt wrote on Saturday. “Harrison made a pair of catches on 1-on-1s, and he made a great catch when he kept the ball from hitting the ground on Levis pass.”

Here’s a look at two of the plays Harrison made on Saturday, courtesy of Wyatt:

Harrison played in 27 games at Oregon State, making 17 starts and tallying 90 receptions for 1,147 yards and eight touchdowns over his three years there. Before that, he recorded 37 catches for 355 yards and three touchdowns with Florida State from 2018-2019.

The Titans figure to have four or five receiver spots mostly set with DeAndre Hopkins, Treylon Burks, Kyle Philips, Chris Moore and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine.

However, if a sixth is carried into 2023, or if guys like Moore or NWI badly stumble, it would open up another opportunity for the players behind them.

Harrison’s stiffest competition for one of the final spots on the depth chart are Racey McMath and Colton Dowell, neither of whom are major roadblocks in any sense of the word.

The next step for Harrison is to keep stacking positive days once the pads go on next week. If he does that, Harrison will make this competition at wide receiver much more interesting.

Biggest takeaways from Titans’ 3rd open practice of training camp

The biggest takeaways from the Titans’ training camp practice on Saturday, including a UDFA wide receiver who stood out.

The Tennessee Titans returned to the practice field on Saturday for what was their third open practice of training camp, and they also saw the return of one of their frontrunners for the right tackle spot.

After sitting out on Friday, offensive lineman Jamarco Jones was back on the practice field on Saturday and saw the majority of the reps at right tackle with the ones.

When it comes to the quarterbacks, second-year signal-caller Malik Willis had a good day by all accounts and rebounded in a big way after throwing a pick.

There weren’t just current Titans at practice, as some former Titans and Oilers were also in attendance, and rocking Oilers gear, also.

But there’s a lot more to talk about than what we just mentioned above. Here are all the biggest takeaways from Saturday’s session based on observations from the beat writers who were on the ground.

What scouting reports said about Titans UDFA WR Tre’Shaun Harrison

What draft experts said about Titans UDFA and wide receiver Tre’Shaun Harrison in scouting reports.

Oregon State product and wide receiver Tre’Shaun Harrison was one of many undrafted free agents the Tennessee Titans signed following the 2023 NFL draft.

Harrison enters about as positive a situation as a UDFA wide receiver can be in, as the Titans currently sport arguably the worst wide receivers group in the NFL, giving him at least a decent shot to make the cut.

With that in mind, we’re checking out what scouting reports we could find on the undrafted rookie to get a better idea of what to expect from Harrison going into the next phases of the team’s offseason program.
