Finally: The #Redskins have agreed to terms on a trade of LT Trent Williams to the #49ers, per me, @TomPelissero & @MikeGarafolo. It took until Day 3 of the Draft, but Washington gets it done, and SF gets help at a position of need. It’s for a 5th this year and 3rd next year.

According to several reporters at the NFL Network, Trent Williams is being traded to the San Francisco 49ers for a 5th round pick this year, as well as a 3rd round pick next season.
Trent Williams will now go to a playoff contender in San Francisco who is coached by Kyle Shanahan, the former offensive coordinator for the Redskins years ago.
The compensation for Williams may not have been what the Redskins initially wanted, but at this point in time, it was time for the Redskins to take whatever they could get for him. The situation had to come to an end, and it finally did.
There is no contract extension in place for Trent Williams with the #49ers. That will be a piece of business that can be handled going forward.
