Gators to get first-ever visit from rising 3-star tight end

Florida football is mixing in this unofficial visit during the June OV season.

The month of June is looking to be chock-full-o-official visits so far but the opening salvo of the summer season is not restricted to just OVs. For instance, three-star tight end [autotag]Traville Frederick Jr[/autotag]. told Swamp247 this week that he plans on being in Gainesville for an unofficial visit from June 17-18 — his first campus stop with the Orange and Blue.

The 6-foot-2-inch, 228-pound end has seen his stock rise meteorically recently, resulting in an offer from the Gators back in late April plus a few other programs. The Alabama Crimson Tide, Texas A&M Aggies, Tulane Green Wave, Mississippi State Bulldogs and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are also in the mix currently.

“The impression I would say has been good. I feel like they are going to use me right at Florida,” he told Swamp247. “They have a history of using their tight ends. I wasn’t able to talk with Coach Raymond when he was at the school, but that was my first time seeing him. From talking to them before, they like my frame. Coach Raymond said I have a great frame, and I look like real versatile tight end that they can use many ways.

“Florida is a good opportunity. Knowing Coach Billy Napier came all this way to find me here. They had the trust to offer me, so that means a lot to me.”

Fredrick is ranked No. 766 overall and No. 34 at his position nationally according to the 247Sports composite while the On3 industry ranking has him at Nos. 838 and 40, respectively.

Florida offers tight end committed to Tulane

Billy Napier likes his Louisiana recruits, and the Gators going after a tight already committed to Tulane University.

Jeanerette Senior (Louisiana) tight end [autotag]Traville Frederick Jr[/autotag]. has been committed to the Tulane Green Wave since March, but things might be changing now that the Florida Gators have offered him a scholarship.

Frederick announced the news on Wednesday through social media, but he remains pledged to Tulane for now. Defensive backs coach Corey Raymond is the area recruiter and paid a visit to Jeanerette Senior before extending the offer to Frederick, according to Swamp247.

While he’s not totally familiar with Florida’s offensive scheme, he’s noticed that Billy Napier likes to use more than one tight end fairly often and in a variety of ways. Frederick says that he likes teams that always have their tight ends doing something.

Getting to the Swamp is the natural next step for Frederick. He’s thinking that an unofficial visit should come before locking in an official one. Alabama and Tulane are the only two programs he’s certain are getting official visits right now.

“Florida is a good opportunity,” Frederick said. “Knowing Coach Billy Napier came all this way to find me here. They had the trust to offer me, so that means a lot to me. I am keeping an eye on Florida and Alabama still. I am going to keep tabs on Florida for sure.”

Frederick is ranked No. 937 overall among class of 2024 recruits on the 247Sports composite. He’s No. 38 among tight ends in the class.

Alabama offers Tulane commit, 2024 TE Traville Frederick Jr.

Alabama’s coaching staff extended an offer to 2024 tight end and Tulane commit Traville Frederick Jr. following an unofficial visit on Monday. Frederick Jr. has been committed to the Green Wave since March 4.

The Alabama coaching staff hosted 2024 tight end and Tulane commit Traville Frederick Jr. for an unofficial visit on Monday. The Tide extended him his first power-five offer.

Frederick Jr. has been committed to the Green Wave since March 4. However, this offer could change some things for the Louisiana native.

Based on his highlight tape, Frederick Jr. possesses the size and playmaking abilities to play at a high level like the power-five. He can be used at either tight end or wide receiver which makes him an even more valuable prospect.

With Alabama being the first power-five program to offer, it should help the Tide’s chances. Alabama has a history of putting tight ends in the NFL as well. Several that have starred in Tuscaloosa and moved on to the next level are O.J. Howard, Irv Smith Jr., and Miller Forristall.

Frederick Jr. will be a recruit to keep a close eye on. The Tide do not have a tight end commit at this time. Frederick Jr. would be a nice addition to the class if he were to commit in the future.
