Cowboys to travel more miles than any other NFC East team in 2023

From @ToddBrock24f7: With trips to nearly every corner of the country on the itinerary, the Cowboys will log over 22,000 travel miles in the 2023 regular season.

While the Cowboys wait to learn the exact details of their 2023 regular-season schedule, they at least know how many frequent-flier miles they’ll be earning along the way.

Bill Speros, a sports columnist and senior betting analyst, has calculated the travel totals for all 32 NFL teams for the upcoming season; Wednesday’s announcement of which teams would be traveling abroad was the last piece of the puzzle needed to arrive at the mileage totals.

At 22,620 miles, the Cowboys will log the 11th-most miles of any team in the league and- just barely- the most of any NFC East squad.

Unsurprisingly, the Seattle Seahawks will travel the farthest from their home in the far Pacific Northwest, with cross-country flights to (and from) New York and Baltimore on their 2023 schedule, plus long trips to non-divisional foes Cincinnati, Detroit, Nashville, and Dallas.

The Bengals will stay closest to home, thanks to a Midwest-heavy itinerary that includes short jaunts to each of their AFC North rivals, plus easy hops to Nashville and Kansas City mixed in.

The Cowboys must cross time zones just to play the other teams in the NFC East, and then they also have trips to San Francisco, Miami, Buffalo, Charlotte, and Los Angeles. The shortest journey the team will make in 2023 is their game in Arizona, still over 1,000 miles from AT&T Stadium.

The Giants will travel 22,614 miles, thanks to a similar slate of away opponents. The Eagles will log 17,549 miles; the Commanders are looking at 17,498 miles of flight time.
