The Portland Trail Blazers (0-3) and Toronto Raptors (1-2) meet Monday at Scotiabank Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Trail Blazers vs. Raptors odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: First meeting; Toronto won both meetings last season

The Trail Blazers failed to cover the spread as 9.5-point underdogs with a 126-98 loss at the Philadelphia 76ers as the Over (217) hit Sunday. G Shaedon Sharpe led Portland with 20 points as it fell to 0-3 against the spread (ATS).

The Raptors are also coming off a non-cover to the 76ers, losing 114-107 as 5-point home underdogs Saturday as the Over (214) cashed. F Scottie Barnes scored a team-high 24 points, and Toronto handed former coach Nick Nurse his 1st win with the 76ers.

Toronto covered in both meetings vs. Portland last season, and the Under went 2-0. The Raptors won 123-105 as 3-point road underdogs in the most recent meeting Jan. 28.

Trail Blazers at Raptors picks and predictions

Prediction

Raptors 110, Trail Blazers 103

Moneyline

The Raptors (-350) clearly have a better roster than the rebuilding Trail Blazers, but it’s not good enough for them to be laying this kind of number.

PASS. Bet the spread and/or the total instead.

Against the spread

Portland should cover for the 1st time this season. While the Trail Blazers looked horrific Sunday, this team is young and shouldn’t be too affected by fatigue on the 2nd night of a back-to-back. Portland was competitive ATS in its 1st 2 games and only failed to cover in them by a combined margin of 3.5 points.

The Raptors just haven’t proven that they are good enough this season to be laying 8.5 points vs. any team — even if it is the 0-3 Trail Blazers.

BET TRAIL BLAZERS +8.5 (-110).

Over/Under

The Under has hit in 2 of 3 Raptors games this season, as Toronto ranks dead last in offensive efficiency and 5th in defensive efficiency. Neither team will look great offensively in this one, and the Under should hit for a 3rd straight  meeting.

BET UNDER 216.5 (-110).

Portland Trail Blazers at Toronto Raptors odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Portland Trail Blazers at Toronto Raptors odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Toronto Raptors (22-21) host the Portland Trail Blazers (19-26) Sunday for a 6 p.m. ET tip-off at Scotiabank Arena. Below, we look at the Trail Blazers vs. Raptors odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

Sunday will mark the final game of a six-game road trip for the Trail Blazers who’ve gone 3-2 straight-up (SU) and against the spread (ATS) over that span. Portland upset the Boston Celtics 109-105 as an 8.5-point underdog Friday in its last outing.

Toronto is just 2-4 SU but 4-2 ATS over the last six games, including a 109-105 win versus the Wizards in Washington Friday as a 2-point road favorite.

Portland beat Toronto 118-113 as a 3-point favorite in their first meeting this season (Nov. 15) and it was the Trail Blazers’ fourth straight victory against the Raptors. They’re 3-1 ATS versus the Raptors across those meetings.

Trail Blazers at Raptors odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Trail Blazers 110, Raptors 106

Money line

SPRINKLE on the TRAIL BLAZERS (+290), if at all, because I like Portland plus the points enough to take a stab at its fat money line.

The Trail Blazers have been playing some good basketball recently. It’s largely due to the breakout performance of PG Anfernee Simons who’s averaging 25.7 points per game (PPG) on 49.4% shooting (43.3% from behind the arc) with 7.4 assists per game in January.

Portland SG C.J. McCollum has also balled in his past three games versus Toronto. McCollum is averaging 27.3 PPG on 54.6% shooting (38.1% from 3) and 5.3 assists per game in those contests.

Furthermore, the Trail Blazers have the best clutch net rating at plus-90.6 with a 3-1 SU record over the last seven games. “Clutch” is when a game is within a 5-point margin in the final five minutes. So if this game stays close, I like their odds.

However, my hesitancy with Portland in this spot is due to it having the worst turnover rate over the past seven games and Toronto thriving off of turnovers.

Again, only SPRINKLE on TRAIL BLAZERS (+290) with the plan of betting more on their spread.

Against the spread

Definitely BET the TRAIL BLAZERS +7.5 (-107) heavier than or instead of the money line because Portland has been playing better and I’m betting the hotter team.

The Trail Blazers have a plus-5.8 ATS margin (ranked third) and the Raptors have a minus-1.9 ATS margin (ranked 22nd) over the last two weeks, according to CleaningTheGlass.com (CTG).

Plus this hasn’t been a profitable spot for Toronto who is 4-5 ATS at home versus teams below-.500 and 2-5 ATS when laying between 7.5-9.5 points.

The TRAIL BLAZERS +7.5 (-107) is my favorite wager in this game.

Over/Under

Slight “LEAN” to the OVER 213.5 (-107) for a tiny wager, if at all, because the Over has cashed in six of the past eight Trail Blazers-Raptors meetings and Portland has gone Over the total in five of its last six games versus teams with a winning record.

That said, I don’t like the Over here because most of the market is betting the Over and the Under has cashed in Toronto’s last seven games.

Portland Trail Blazers at Toronto Raptors odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Sunday’s Portland Trail Blazers at Toronto Raptors NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The Portland Trail Blazers (27-18) visit the Toronto Raptors (18-27) at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Fla., Sunday for a 7 p.m. ET tip-off. Below, we analyze the Trail Blazers-Raptors odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

This will be the first game for new Blazers SG Norman Powell against his former team since being dealt from the Raptors to the Trail Blazers at the trade deadline.

He went 7-for-13 from the field and finished with 22 points in his debut for Portland against the Orlando Magic Friday. The Trail Blazers won 112-105.

SG Gary Trent Jr., who was sent to Toronto in that deal, went 4-for-11 for just 8 points in his Raptors debut against the Phoenix Suns Friday. Toronto lost 104-100 for its 10th defeat in 11 games.

Trail Blazers at Raptors: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Trail Blazers 123, Raptors 111

Money line (ML)

The TRAIL BLAZERS (-120) are the much better team right now with a 9-4 record in March while the Raptors were sent straight back to the loss column by the Suns after snapping a nine-game losing skid with an inspired 135-111 win over the Denver Nuggets Wednesday.

Portland is the early winner of the Powell-Trent swap and his 3-point shooting helps a Blazers team seventh in the Association with a 38.1% team success rate from behind the arc for the season.

This is a soft line due to Lillard’s questionable tag, but he will play Sunday, according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo! Sports.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

Following suit, back the TRAIL BLAZERS -1.5 (-110) to win by at least 2 points for a slightly better return on investment.

The Blazers have three wins this season by single-point margins but all but one of the Raptors’ last 10 losses were by 3 or more points.

Over/Under (O/U)

Back the OVER 230.5 (-110) with both teams relying heavily on the 3-ball.

The Blazers and Raptors are second and third, respectively in 3-pointers attempted and made, and both are in the bottom third of the league in 3-point defense.
