Rams vs. Texans: Cooper Kupp makes impressive throw during warmups

Star WR Cooper Kupp showed off his arm during warmups ahead of the #Rams’ preseason tilt against the #Texans on Saturday.

The Los Angeles Rams and Houston Texans are getting ready for their final preseason exhibition this afternoon, and while starters are expected to ride the bench to minimize the chance of injuries, star wide receiver Cooper Kupp decided to steal the show during warmups.

Usually known for his ability to make incredible catches, Kupp decided to show off his throwing skills ahead of kickoff, launching a flat-footed 50-yard throw that may give Sean McVay some ideas for trick plays.

Take a look at Kupp’s impressive throw below, in this video that was posted to the NFL’s official Twitter account before the game:

Though Los Angeles is secure in its quarterback situation, the veteran receiver’s amazing throwing ability might be an asset to be utilized this season.

Kupp isn’t likely to see the field against Houston but is expected to return to action on September 8 when the Rams face the Detroit Lions in Week 1.

WATCH: Tom Brady frustrated by the Saints, starts breaking equipment again

Tom Brady must love breaking things. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback stormed off to the sideline after a third consecutive possession ended with a punt, shouting at his receivers and flinging his helmet to the ground. When presented with a Microsoft Surface tablet to review what went wrong out on the field, he instead spiked it into the turf.

Hey, he’s just running back the hits. Brady’s tantrums are just part of his brand now. He did the same thing in a loss to the Saints last year, taking out his frustration on an opponent who couldn’t hit back. Maybe he’ll end up paying a fine or cutting a check to the equipment staff.

Either way, the Saints defense has continued to get the better of him. And some of those problems were self-inflicted — Tampa Bay’s first drive ended with a fumbled snap, and their second possession was snuffed out on a botched fourth down play with visible confusion among his blockers. They’ll need to clean it up to find a win against New Orleans.
