Raptors at Nuggets picks and predictions

Prediction

Nuggets 119, Raptors 103

Moneyline

PASS.

There is no value on Denver (-1200), which is 8-2 in its last 10 overall and 26-6 at home this season, to beat Toronto.

Against the spread

BET NUGGETS -14.5 (-110).

The Raptors have failed to cover in 5 of their last 6 games, including 3 of their last 4 as underdogs. They have lost by double digits 3 times in their last 5 games and are dealing with an array of injuries that will play a role Monday.

Denver is 7-2 ATS in its last 9 games, including 4-2 ATS at home and 3-0 ATS as a favorite of 9 or more points. Six of its last 8 wins have come by double digits.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 231.5 (-110).

The Raptors are dealing with injuries that will limit their overall production Monday. They have scored 113 or fewer in 4 of their last 5 games and have hit the Under in 3 of their last 5.

While the Nuggets have been hot on offense recently, they have been streaky as well. They have scored 117 or fewer in 4 of their last 6 and have hit the Under in 4 of their last 7. They have also allowed 114 or fewer in 8 of their last 10.

Analyzing Monday’s Toronto Raptors at Denver Nuggets odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Toronto Raptors (32-33) and Denver Nuggets (45-19) meet Monday at Ball Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 9 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Raptors vs. Nuggets odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Raptors covered the spread as 2.5-point favorites Saturday with a 116-109 overtime win at the Washington Wizards. G Fred VanVleet scored 25 points, including two 3-pointers in overtime, as Toronto recovered after blowing a 13-point 4th-quarter lead.

The Nuggets covered as 5.5-point home favorites Friday with a 113-97 win vs. the Memphis Grizzlies. C Nikola Jokić had a triple-double with 18 points, 18 rebounds and 10 assists as Denver won its 3rd straight game.

This is the 1st meeting this season between the Raptors and Nuggets. Toronto and Denver split last season’s series 1-1 straight up and against the spread with the Over hitting in 1 of the 2 meetings.

Raptors at Nuggets picks and predictions

Prediction

Nuggets 118, Raptors 115

Moneyline

PASS.

The Nuggets (-240) should win, but they’re being slightly overvalued on the moneyline vs. a Raptors team that has won 3 of the last 6 head-to-head meetings. Bet the spread and/or total instead.

Against the spread

BET RAPTORS +6.5 (-115).

VanVleet’s clutch performance vs. Washington should give him more confidence moving forward after ending a shooting slump where he averaged just 9 points over 3 games. Couple that with Toronto playing up to the level of its competition lately, going 5-1 ATS in its last 6 games vs. teams with a winning percentage above .600, and the Raptors should be able to keep this one close.

Over/Under

BET OVER 229.5 (-105).

The Over has hit in 5 of Toronto’s last 6 games vs. teams with a winning record and is 4-0 in Denver’s last 4 vs. sub-.500 teams.

The Over is 6-1-1 in the last 8 meetings between these teams in Denver and Monday’s matchup should be another high-scoring affair.

Toronto Raptors at Denver Nuggets odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Thursday’s Toronto Raptors at Denver Nuggets NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The Toronto Raptors (26-36) visit the Denver Nuggets (41-21) Thursday for a 9 p.m. ET tip-off at Ball Arena. Below, we analyze the Raptors-Nuggets odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

This is the first game of a four-game Western Conference road trip for the 12th-seeded Raptors. They’re coming off a 116-103 loss to the Brooklyn Nets Tuesday after winning five of their previous six games.

The Nuggets, fourth in the West, beat the New Orleans Pelicans 114-112 Wednesday for their third straight win. They’re 7-1 since PG Jamal Murray suffered a season-ending injury April 12.

Toronto crushed Denver 135-111 March 24. That was before the NBA trade deadline and the Nuggets’ acquisition of PF Aaron Gordon.

Raptors at Nuggets: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Nuggets 125, Raptors 112

Money line (ML)

The NUGGETS (-185) are at the upper end of my money line limit but it’s a fine price to pay for a win over the Raptors.

Denver is playing far better than many expected in the immediate aftermath of Murray’s departure from the lineup.

Monday’s 120-96 win over the playoff-hungry Memphis Grizzlies was one of their most impressive performances.

Gordon is averaging a modest 11.1 points per game and 4.8 rebounds per game while averaging 26.4 minutes per contest since joining the Nuggets, but his player efficiency rating is up to 15.5 from 15.0 with the Orlando Magic.

He and C Nikola Jokic pose a big frontcourt mismatch for Toronto, who remains without one of its most important bigs in Boucher.

Against the spread (ATS)

Raptors PF Pascal Siakam is coming off a 2-for-16 shooting performance against the Nets in which he had to hit all 6 free-throw attempts for 10 points.

It was just his first sub-20 point game in his last six outings but this is a tough matchup for him to head into cold.

Denver is just 1-5 ATS in its last six games, but one of those non-covers was a 14-point favorite in a 13-point drubbing of the Houston Rockets.

The Nuggets are 5-5 ATS for the season when laying 3-4.5 points, and they’re 9-5 ATS when laying 5-7 points.

Back the bigger NUGGETS -4.5 (-110) to win by at least 5 points.

Over/Under (O/U)

Bet the OVER 224.5 (-110) while expecting the Nuggets to lay it to the inferior Raptors defense.

Denver is 7-4 against the O/U and plays an average of 7.6 points per game above the line when playing on no rest.
