I don’t know who the #Nuggets face in their opener, and I haven’t tried to find out. But in my (ignorant, know-nothing) opinion, it’d be shortsighted if they were to open on the road. Think fans deserve to get the first glimpse of Jamal Murray at Ball Arena. – 11:44 AM

Warriors’ Run TMC will have its own documentary

RTG Features (Alaskan Nets) and MSM (The Last Dance) have tapped David Charles Rodrigues (Neymar: The Perfect Chao) to direct a new feature doc about the high-scoring NBA trio of Tim Hardaway, Mitch Richmond and Chris Mullin —collectively known as Run TMC— and how they set the stage for the present-day dynasty of the world-champion Golden State Warriors, led by Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green.

German basketball federation retires Dirk Nowitzki’s number

With the tournament taking place in Dirk Nowitzki’s home country, the German basketball federation (DBB) will use the opening day of the event to retire his No. 14 national team jersey. The German federation announced the plans in a news release early Tuesday. The ceremony will happen before the Germany-France game on Sept. 1 in Cologne on the opening day of the Eurobasket event. It is the first time in the 73-year history of the German basketball federation that they have retired a jersey number.

Kevin Huerter: Kings are hungry to win

Now that he is with the Kings, Kevin Huerter is happy to be with a group of guys that are “hungry to win” as well as some other veterans with past playoff success. Furthermore, Huerter stressed the importance of culture when trying to obtain success in the NBA. “It’s everything. It starts with the front office, with the coaching staff, and it continues and just buys in with the players,” Huerter said.

The New Orleans Pelicans remain interested in a deal for Kevin Durant, according to a source, and can put together a compelling package around All-Star forward Brandon Ingram, role players like Herbert Jones, Devonte Graham and Jose Alvarado, and the remaining draft compensation they received from both the Los Angeles Lakers in the Anthony Davis trade and the Milwaukee Bucks in the Jrue Holiday trade.

Kevin Durant skipping Nets training camp if he’s not traded?

Kevin Durant’s boundless love for basketball is not a reason to believe he’ll show up for training camp if the Nets don’t acknowledge his trade request. That has been the prevailing belief — that Durant, a 12-time All-Star and two-time NBA Finals MVP, is above the idea of holding out of camp because he is a master of his craft and a lover of the game. A source, however, pushed back on the idea that Durant will show up to training camp in September if his request goes unfulfilled.

Cavs, Collin Sexton still far apart in contract talks

Sources tell cleveland.com that talks between the Cavaliers and Colin Sexton’s camp — led by ruthless, player-friendly negotiator Rich Paul, the CEO of Klutch Sports — have not been contentious but remain at a standstill, with the two sides far apart on valuation. Cleveland.com has been reporting for weeks that the Cavs are offering a three-year contract worth around $40 million — an annual salary of about $13 million per year.

Danilo Gallinari on joining Celtics: The goal is the ring

Danilo Gallinari had much more clear goals for the upcoming season in the NBA, where he signed with the Celtics. “The goal is the ring with Boston, despite the 14 years I have played in the United States, I am still excited for this new chapter of my career,” said the forward. “As long as there is that feeling, I don’t want to stop. At the Celtics there are certainly many responsibilities and expectations, however, the young people in Boston already have experience and have shown it,” said the veteran player.
