The Jazz holding onto Mitchell — which they have repeatedly indicated they are happy to do, sources with direct knowledge of the situation say — brings significant risk. It will require Mitchell, who is currently working out in Miami and preparing for the season, to buy into what the Jazz are doing. It will require Mitchell to play through any lingering disappointment of not being traded. The Jazz don’t feel that will be an issue and have always been high on Mitchell’s overall character. The Post has reported the Jazz are after four unprotected picks and the Knicks are looking to just give two with three conditional picks.  Not having Barrett in the deal would not seem to be deal-breaker. Sources contend unprotected picks are more important to Utah, which reportedly is after the Lakers’ 2027 and 2029 picks in what could be a three-team deal. -via New York Post / August 30, 2022

Delon Wright met with Wizards media …

Delon Wright met with Wizards media members for the first time on Tuesday at a camp for local kids at Trinity Unversity in Northeast Washington. He said Kuzma helped lure him to D.C. Kuzma pitched Wright on the opportunity the Wizards had in their backcourt. Wright is lined up to be their primary back-up guard and a key cog in their defense. Wright, 30, ultimately signed a 2-year deal in free agency and considers Kuzma as a big reason why. “He was probably a better recruiter than [Wizards president] Tommy [Sheppard],” Wright joked.
