Mario Cristobal just grabbed another big recruit, and when we say big recruit, we mean that quite literally.
Offensive tackle Cameron Williams, from Duncanville, Texas is 6-foot-5 and weighs 360 pounds. He announced that he will be part of the Class of 2022 for the Ducks on Thursday afternoon.
Williams is rated as a three-star recruit by most services and he was offered by Oklahoma, Texas, Texas Teck, Miami, FL as well as Oregon. The big lineman made his official visit to Eugene on June 4.
The day before committing to Cristobal, Williams said his final three were the Ducks, Sooners, and Longhorns. All a lot of people “in the know” thought Texas was a favorite to land Williams, but Oregon was able to pull off the minor upset.
The next class of Ducks is coming along nicely as Oregon already has many high-profile commits such as linebacker TJ Dudley, safety Trejon Williams, and quarterback Tanner Bailey.
But the name Oregon fans are waiting on with baited breathe is defensive end TJ Tuimoloau out of Washington. He’s one of the top recruits in the nation and will announce fairly soon. The five-star will most likely walk on any campus he chooses and will compete for a starting job right away.
