LOOK: Lonzo Ball sports Big Baller Brand ‘Team Tina’ shirt pregame

Ahead of Sunday’s game against the Celtics, Lonzo Ball sported Big Baller Brand gear from the Team Tina collection in support of his mother.

Lonzo Ball’s relationship with Big Baller Brand has been fractured at best in recent years. Dating back to the situation surrounding Alan Foster, the relationship between father LaVar and son Lonzo has been stressed at times over the last few years.

While LaVar and Lonzo have since repaired their relationship, Ball’s relationship with Big Baller Brand never quite recovered. Most recently, Lonzo launched his own clothing brand line and was reportedly on the market for a shoe deal, two signs of an unlikely return to Big Baller Brand.

However, on Sunday, Ball appeared in Big Baller Brand gear heading into the arena prior to the game against Boston at the Smoothie King Center.

The shirt is a unique one and might explain why he’s sporting it. It comes from Big Baller Brand’s Team Tina collection dedicated to Ball’s mother. In the least surprising news possible, the shirt is available on the brand’s website for a low, low price of $100.

Ball, like his brothers, is close to his mother. Recently, LaMelo donated 100 scholarships to students at his mother’s old middle school. Both Lonzo and LaMelo have spoken about what their mother means to them, which could explain Ball wearing a shirt from her collection.

WATCH: LaVar Ball opens up about relationship with wife Tina before and after stroke

LaVar Ball offered a glimpse at his relationship with Tina on Sunday’s episode of “Ball in the Family” and opened up about life after her stroke.

Most people are the globe view LaVar Ball as a bombastic man who says what’s on his mind with hardly any filter and with little care as to the consequences of his words. That image is no coincidence as it’s been crafted that way intentionally by Ball.

As controversial as he may be, from a business perspective, Ball’s carefully crafted image has led to him and his family being set financially for the rest of their lives and onward.

In rare instances though, Ball peels back the curtain to show a side of him that is rawer and less crafted for the camera. Typically, those moments involve his wife Tina in some capacity. As was the case in Sunday’s episode of “Ball in the Family” where LaVar revealed the freshly-built park in the backyard of their house that would allow Tina to continue rehab during the pandemic.

While the park itself was a surprise that’s final product had been kept from Tina, LaVar had a more romantic surprise on top of it. In a throwback to a tradition they had as younger kids, LaVar had In-N-Out waiting for them for a picnic in the park.

LaVar then reflected on his life with Tina and how far the couple had come since the times they used to spend in the park eating In-N-Out.

One of the quotes that sticks out the most is how LaVar refers to Tina’s stroke as something that wasn’t a down. Naturally, Tina’s stroke has been tough on all the family, Lonzo included, but the fact LaVar can keep such an upbeat look at the situation does help the numerous mental challenges that have and will continue to come up for the family.

WATCH: Ball in Family chronicles Tina Ball’s recovery journey after stroke

Tina Ball’s long recovery journey from her stroke was recently documented in a new video from Ball in the Family.

Tina Ball is generally the oft-forgotten member of the Ball family. With loud husband LaVar taking the bulk of the spotlight and sons Lonzo and LaMelo filling in the rest, Tina has stayed back in the shadows in the national spotlight as a result.

On “Ball in the Family”, the family’s weekly Facebook show though, Tina has been featured much more predominantly. With the show starting in the months immediately following the stroke, it’s provided a unique first-hand look for viewers at her recovery. the up-close view, though, doesn’t always offer enough perspective on how far Ball has come.

To give a larger idea at her recovery to-date, “Ball in the Family” released a special mini-episode this week looking at Ball’s recover. The five-minute montage features footage from each step of her recovery. It’s an emotional look at the long, hard road Tina has taken to get to even the point she is now.
