The Timberwolves failed to cover the spread as 7-point home favorites Friday in a 121-113 loss vs. the Charlotte Hornets. G Anthony Edwards scored a team-high 29 points for the Timberwolves, who have lost 3 of their last 4 games. Minnesota is 0-5 against the spread (ATS) in their last 5 road games vs. the Warriors.

The Warriors covered as 8.5-point home favorites Friday in a 116-101 win vs. the Houston Rockets. G Klay Thompson finished with a game-high 42 points, shooting 12 of 17 from the 3-point line as Golden State improved to 6-1 in its last 7 home games. The season series is tied 1-1 and the Over has hit in 1 of the 2 meetings. Minnesota covered as a 5.5-point home underdog in a 119-114 overtime win as the Under (241.5) cashed Feb. 1.

Timberwolves at Warriors picks and predictions

Prediction

Warriors 125, Timberwolves 116

Moneyline

PASS.

The Warriors (-140) should win, but there is no need to buy the points when Golden State should win by multiple possessions. Bet the spread and/or total instead.

Against the spread

BET WARRIORS -2.5 (-108).

Golden State is 14-11-1 ATS as a home favorite and Minnesota is 7-10 ATS as an away underdog. The Warriors should be motivated to get revenge after blowing a 14-point 4th-quarter lead vs. the Timberwolves in the Feb. 1 meeting. Golden State has won its last 11 home games vs. Minnesota and will likely cover the short spread with another win Sunday.

Over/Under

BET OVER 233.5 (-110).

The Over is 5-2-1 in Minnesota’s last 8 games and 4-0 in the Timberwolves’ last 4 games on the road. The Over has hit in 8 of the last 9 meetings between these teams and is 5-1-1 in Golden State’s last 7 games after a win.

Minnesota Timberwolves at Golden State Warriors odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s Minnesota Timberwolves at Golden State Warriors odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Minnesota Timberwolves (24-23) head to the Chase Center Thursday for a 10 p.m. ET game with the Golden State Warriors (35-13). Below, we look at the Timberwolves vs. Warriors odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

Golden State won its third straight game Tuesday by crushing Dallas 130-92 at home. Over the past two weeks, the Warriors are 5-3 straight-up (SU) and 3-4-1 against the spread (ATS).

Minnesota fended off the Trail Blazers in Portland for a 109-107 win as 3-point road favorites Tuesday. The T-Wolves are 4-2 SU and 2-4 ATS in the last 14 days.

These teams are tied 1-1 SU and ATS in their head-to-head series this season with the home team winning and covering both games.

Timberwolves at Warriors odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Warriors 121, Timberwolves 117

Money line

PASS because I only “lean” to Minnesota plus the points but don’t like it enough to sprinkle on the Timberwolves (+205).

But, the Warriors (-260) are the best team at home by adjusted net rating and this is a primetime matchup versus a young and up-and-coming T-Wolves team.

Also, Warriors wing Andrew Wiggins always balls versus his former team, and Golden State just diced up a good Dallas defense for 130 points.

Against the spread

“LEAN” to the TIMBERWOLVES +6.5 (-120) mostly because they are well-rested and are playing a fatigued Warriors -6.5 (-105).

For instance, this is Golden State’s fifth game in the past seven days whereas Minnesota is only playing in its third game.

Granted, both teams last played Tuesday, but the T-Wolves are 7-5 ATS (plus-4.0 ATS margin) with a rest advantage, and the Warriors are 6-9-1 ATS with a rest disadvantage.

However, most of the other trends point towards Golden State, and my favorite play in this game is the Over.

“LEAN” TIMBERWOLVES +6.5 (-120).

Over/Under

BET the OVER 229.5 (-107) for 1 unit because this total has been steamed from the 228-point opener up to the current price for several valid reasons.

Namely, two of three referees assigned to this game have officiated way more Overs than Unders. In fact, the officiating crew has a combined 56-41 O/U, which is a 57.7% rate to the Over.

Furthermore, Minnesota is 7-2 O/U over the past nine games, 6-0 O/U in its last six versus teams with a winning record, and the Over has cashed in five consecutive Timberwolves-Warriors.

Both teams play at an above-average pace, have an above-average offensive rebounding rate and rank in the top-three in 3-point attempt rate.

Lastly, Golden State’s offensive edge is obviously its Hall of Fame backcourt. Minnesota forces a ton of turnovers, which transitions into easy buckets whereas the Warriors can be clumsy with the ball (29th in offensive turnover rate).

The OVER 229.5 (-107) is my favorite wager in this game.

Minnesota Timberwolves at Golden State Warriors odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Minnesota Timberwolves at Golden State Warriors odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Minnesota Timberwolves (3-6) travel to Chase Center Wednesday to take on the Golden State Warriors (9-1). Tip-off is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Timberwolves at Warriors odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Warriors are entering this game with the best record in the NBA and the current MVP favorite, Stephen Curry. Curry dropped 50 points last game as a third-quarter onslaught helped them annihilate the Hawks.

Golden State SG Jordan Poole has been the team’s second-best scoring option while Draymond Green is also making a legitimate case for his fourth All-Star appearance.

However, limiting C Karl-Anthony Towns is never easy. PG D’Angelo Russell is active and dropped 30 points in 41 minutes in Minnesota’s overtime loss at the Memphis Grizzlies (his first game back from knee surgery).

Timberwolves SG Anthony Edwards will also have a say in the outcome of this game. Edwards has been Minnesota’s second-best scoring option.

Timberwolves at Warriors odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Warriors 114, Timberwolves 105

Money line

PASS on the money line. There really isn’t much value in the Warriors (-350). Betting a regular-season -350 favorite just isn’t worth it in most situations. Again, with three high-level scorers on the other side of the ball, there’s no telling if one gets and stays hot.

On the other side of the thought process, the Warriors have one loss. Every other team has at least three. I wouldn’t bet against this team and their league-best defense.

Against the spread

BET the WARRIORS -7.5 (-105) as they’ve just been destroying opponents.

The best part about Golden State’s success is its defense. The Warriors have the best defensive rating in the NBA, by a long shot.

The Wolves rank 26th in offensive rating and 27th in true shooting percentage. Both are weaknesses that the Warriors should be able to expose. Offensively, Curry shouldn’t be tamed by either Russell or Edwards.

The Warriors’ backcourt is just much better, and with Green on Towns in the premier frontcourt matchup, expect the Warriors to win most matchups. They’ve won five straight games by 13 or more.

With the Wolves nothing special, they should be able to make that six.

Over/Under

“LEAN” to the UNDER 222.5 (-108) as the Dubs should be able to have their way defensively. The Dubs are the only team in the NBA with a sub-100 defensive rating.

Golden State has held three of its last five opponents under 95 points.

While the Warriors have a top-five offensive rating and the best true shooting percentage, the Wolves have the 11th-best defensive rating. Minnesota has been solid defensively this season.

Combine the two strengths for both teams, and the Under appears to be the better play.

Timberwolves at Warriors: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Warriors 118, Timberwolves 108

Money line (ML)

The Warriors (-400) are huge money line favorites in this game after defeating the Timberwolves 130-108 on Monday night. Minnesota is in the midst of a really big slump as they have now lost 12 of their last 14 games. There is no reason to expect them to win this game, but there isn’t a ton of value on the Warriors either.

PASS on the money line here in favor of the point spread.

Against the spread (ATS)

WARRIORS -9.5 (-110) is the smart play here as they are just the more offensively gifted team. With C Karl-Anthony Towns out of the lineup as well as potentially PG D’Angelo Russell, the Timberwolves just don’t have enough offensive weapons to keep up. While this game could be closer than the Monday night contest, expect this to be another double-digit victory for Golden State.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 228.5 (-110) appears to be the right call here as Minnesota’s offense has really fallen off over the last few weeks. On the season, they are averaging just 107.1 points per game, 25th in the NBA. Golden State’s offense can be hit or miss depending on the night, but look for them to score in the upper 110s and for the Under to ultimately hit.
