The Minnesota Timberwolves meet the Denver Nuggets Tuesday in Game 5 of the best-of-7 Western Conference 2nd-round series. The series is tied 2-2. Tip-off from Ball Arena is scheduled for 10:30 p.m. ET (TNT). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Timberwolves vs. Nuggets odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.
After dropping the 1st 2 games at home, Denver evened the series on the road with 2 wins, the last a 115-107 Game 4 victory in Minnesota on Sunday. League MVP C Nikola Jokic led the way with his playoff-high 35 points, 7 assists, 7 rebounds and 3 steals. They also got a 27 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 blocks from F Aaron Gordon. The Nuggets shot 57% (45-for-79) as a team, including knocking down 13 treys.
G Anthony Edwards put on one heck of a show in a losing effort Sunday, finishing with 44 points on 16-for-25 (64%) shooting, adding 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals. No one else on the Timberwolves had more than 15 points. Minnesota could not stop the Nuggets inside, allowing 52 points in the paint. After a commanding 2-0 series lead, they head back to Denver tied with a lot of work to do.

Timberwolves at Nuggets picks and predictions
Prediction
Nuggets 105, Timberwolves 99
Moneyline
PASS.
This series is over in my mind because Minnesota losing both of those home games after being up 2-0 has to be completely mentally demoralizing. The Nuggets will step on their throats Tuesday night. but I’ll save my wager for the spread.
Against the spread
I don’t know how the Timberwolves mentally recover after blowing the series lead. The Nuggets won and covered in both of the games in Minnesota. You know what you are going to get from Jokic, but Gordon has been a man possessed on both ends of the court.
Edwards has been fantastic in this series but he cannot carry this team singlehandedly which was proven on Sunday night. He needs someone else to step up on the offensive end of the court.
BET NUGGETS -4.5 (-110).
Over/Under
Both games at Ball Arena went Under and both games at Target Center went Over the total. If I had a lean, it’d be the Under but neither team really excels at going Over the total. Minnesota was basically .500 for the season while the Nuggets were Under 16 more times than Over.
PASS.
