A former Nebraska fullback gave his thoughts on how the Cornhuskers can get back on track. Jeff Makovicka appeared on Lincoln sports talk station 93.7 The Ticket.

Makovicka played for Nebraska from 1992-1995, winning four Big 8 Championships and two National Championships. He was asked how he thought the program could get back to its winning ways.

You know, playing for history. Let’s go make history. Let’s not just be a Husker football player because we won in the 90s or 80s or 70s.

Lets go make out own history and each guy needs to do that. Just focus on each game. You know, I’m going to talk about this game with my grandkids the way you and I will someday.

You know, we got some ring and I want these kids to know that they have that same opportunity to create memories that will last a lifetime. And that starts with hard work, physicality and competitiveness.

For his career, he would rush for 902 yards, averaging 6.3 yards per carry and scoring six touchdowns.
