Notre Dame unveils 2023 edition of The Shirt

Right on schedule as usual.

Just in time for the Blue-Gold Game, this year’s version of The Shirt is here. Notre Dame fans tend to wear green whenever they attend a sporting event, and this year’s Shirt reflects that. So here it is in all its glory:

As always, half of the proceeds go to The Shirt Charity, which raises money for students with unexpected medical expenses. The rest of them go to student organizations and clubs as well as the Rector Fund, which affords all Notre Dame students the opportunity to have the full university experience no matter where they are financially.

The Shirt goes back to 1990, when the charity was established to fund activities for Notre Dame students. It has remained a staple ever since, and it consistently sells extremely well. You don’t want to miss out on the opportunity to show your Irish pride and help the students of the university. Get it before it’s gone!

Watch: Marcus Freeman to give away Hype Shirt at The Shirt reveal

You can have two shirts if you show enough school spirit.

The Shirt has become as iconic for Notre Dame football as the “Play Like a Champion Today” sign. The 2023 edition of The Shirt will be unveiled the day before the annual Blue-Gold Game. But that won’t be the only shirt that will be made available. [autotag]Marcus Freeman[/autotag] has a Hype Shirt with Friday’s date on it, and he wants to give it away to the student who shows the most school spirit:

So if you’re a Notre Dame student who happens to be reading this, get to the Library Lawn at the moment of truth and do everything you can to win this shirt being offered by the head coach himself. Irish fans are among the most loyal in college football, and you’re going to have the chance to prove it at this event. If nothing else, it will be a story you can tell your children and grandchildren, and this Hype Shirt hopefully will end up in a place of honor.

Watch: Notre Dame unveils Shamrock Series jerseys in ‘Hangover’ salute

Watch the three…er, two best friends that anyone could have get their jerseys.

You surely have heard by now that Notre Dame is playing this year’s Shamrock Series game in Las Vegas. That also means it will have a different look when it faces BYU on Oct. 8. The unveiling of the special jersey for this game has become as anticipated an event as the unveiling of The Shirt, so it only makes sense to treat it as such.

Since the game is in Las Vegas, why not make the announcement in a parody of “The Hangover”, perhaps the best buddy comedy ever set there? Well, that’s what happened, and here’s the resulting beauty:

No, none of these guys are going to win Academy Awards for acting anytime soon or probably ever, but that’s not the point here. [autotag]Marcus Freeman[/autotag], [autotag]Michael Mayer[/autotag] and [autotag]Isaiah Foskey[/autotag] definitely are believable as a trio you would want to hang out with. To have [autotag]Mike Golic[/autotag] and [autotag]Mike Golic Jr[/autotag]. play the heavies while also referencing 1988 makes it even better. Makes you want to have your own Las Vegas adventure, doesn’t it?

The reasons for that help vary, but this definitely is a time for the community to come together for a great cause. Why not support this cause and look stylish for the upcoming season at the same time?
