In a bantamweight title bout on the main card, Aljamain Sterling and Petr Yan meet Saturday at UFC 273 at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Fla. Below, we analyze the UFC 273 Sterling vs. Yan odds and lines, with picks and predictions.
The early prelim fights can be viewed on ESPN+ at 6:30 p.m. ET, with the prelims starting at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN/ESPN+ and the main card starting at 10 p.m. ET on Pay-Per-View.
Sterling, the current title holder, won the strap from Yan at UFC 259 last March in a controversial victory at the UFC’s APEX Facility in Las Vegas.
Yan did a good job taking control of the previous fight in the third round, and appeared headed for a title defense. In the fourth round, Sterling had a knee down on the canvas, and Yan kneed him in the face. Sterling was unable to continue, and he was awarded the fight via DQ.
Sterling has rattled off six consecutive wins, with three of those fights ending inside the distance. That includes the DQ against Yan, and a first-round submission win over Cory Sandhagen at UFC 250 in June 2020.
Yan won the interim championship last time out over Sandhagen at UFC 267 in October, so this fight against Sterling will basically be a unification bout. That controversial loss for Yan was his only setback in nine fights at the UFC level. Four of his past eight bouts have gone the distance.

UFC 273 Sterling vs. Yan: Odds, lines, predictions and picks
Records: Sterling (20-3-0) | Yan (16-2-0)
Fight result (2-way line or money line)
Yan (-450) will cost you four and a half times your potential return, and that’s just too costly. I believe he heads into this bout with a chip on his shoulder and wins in an emphatic fashion. However, you’ll need to get specific with the method of victory, too, for a much better value.
Roll with YAN BY KO/TKO (+140) at plus money for a better value. Since arriving at the UFC in June 2018, Yan has four wins via KO/TKO in nine bouts, and he has never been knocked out in his career.
Over/Under (O/U)
NO (-110): FIGHT TO GO THE DISTANCE is the play here, as I feel Yan is going to get the knockout win.
In addition, play a three-round block on Yan to win. Go with YAN IN ROUND 2 (+650), YAN IN ROUND 3 (+1100) and YAN in ROUND 4 (+1700). If he wins in Rounds 2 through 4, you’re going to lose two ends, but you’ll still be well ahead, especially the later it goes.
