Florida State’s Johnny Wilson had one of the best one-handed catches ever against Oklahoma

A one-handed catch while basically wrestling an Oklahoma defender!

Florida State’s Johnny Wilson is a huge reason why his No. 13-ranked team beat Oklahoma, 35-32, on Thursday night in the Cheez-It Bowl, which seldom disappoints.

The sophomore wide receiver led his team with eight catches for 202 yards — a career high for Wilson, who now also owns the Florida State bowl record for most receiving yards — but one reception stands out among the others as one of the greatest we’ve seen this season. And maybe ever.

With the score tied at 32 and about three minutes left in the fourth quarter, Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis took a huge shot downfield with 6-foot-7 Wilson bolting down the sideline. Fending off Sooners defensive back Justin Broiles, Wilson made a stunning one-handed catch with his right arm while using the other basically to wrestle Broiles to the ground.

It was an incredible 58-yard reception, and it helped set Florida State up for what would be its game-winning field goal. Check it out:

Here are a couple more shots of the catch because this play needs as many angles as possible:

Absolutely jaw-dropping.

And when Oklahoma got the ball back after Florida State’s field goal with less than a minute left, the Sooners squandered their final opportunity to tie the game or take the lead.

Ranking the 11 best (edible) things college football players could dump on bowl-winning coaches

What bowl-themed things could replace water or Gatorade for coaches’ celebratory baths?

It’s college football bowl season! And we here at For The Win are pretty excited about that because it’s more great (and sometimes terrible but also still great) football, it’s a chance for NFL prospects to boost their draft stock, it means more college football during the week and eventually, a new national champion will be crowned.

But we’re also excited for bowl season because it’s that time of year when winning teams douse their winning coaches with what’s commonly known as a Gatorade bath — but in recent years, the contents have gone so far beyond anything resembling Gatorade. Or water.

The coaches’ celebratory baths have evolved lately with the baths from giant water coolers now sometimes being related to the bowl games’ sponsors. And that’s made the jubilant post-game scenes even better, as coaches now give on-field interviews covered in snacks or beverages — and, hopefully, eventually, a major condiment.

So as the 2021 college football bowl season gets ready to kick off, we’ve ranked the 11 best things that should go in the coolers for players to dump on their coaches. These are purely edible suggestions, as fun as it would be to see the winning coach from the Myrtle Beach Bowl get a cooler full of sand dumped on him. And the ranking and items suggested are based on the bowl’s sponsors, the bowl name itself and other random things.

Bowl organizers: Please feel free to take every single one of these proposals.

Cheez-It Bowl: #21 Oklahoma State vs. #18 Miami live stream, TV channel, start time, odds, prediction

The No. 21 ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys will face the No. 18 ranked Miami Hurricanes in the Cheez-It Bowl on Tuesday, stream it live.

The No. 21 ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys will face the No. 18 ranked Miami Hurricanes on Tuesday in the Cheez-It Bowl from Camping World Stadium in Orlando.

Oklahoma State comes into this one off a solid 7-3 season and a blowout win in their last game against Baylor, 42-3. The Cowboys offense struggled later in the season after Chuba Hubbard was injured, they’ll need to bring their A-game tonight against a tough Miami team.

Miami finished this season with an 8-2 record with their two losses coming to two ranked teams, Clemson and UNC but under Manny Diaz, they have looked impressive. With D’Eriq King under center, it gives the Hurricanes more leverage on offense and that will be tough to stop for the Cowboys.

This should be a fun one to watch, here’s everything you need to know to stream the action tonight:

#21 Oklahoma State vs. #18 Miami

  • When: Tuesday, December, 29
  • Time: 5:30 p.m. ET
  • TV Channel: ESPN
  • Live Stream: fuboTV (watch for free)

Prediction: I’m going to stick with Miami in this one. I know their defensive line is struggling but I think they can show up in a bowl game. D’Eriq King is a beast and can put up points quickly, they will need to if they plan on keeping up with Oklahoma State.

Bet: Miami Hurricanes +1. Over 61.5
