Auburn won its third game of the season last Saturday, defeating Samford, 45-13.
Auburn is slowly gaining respect across the country, as noted in the latest US LBM and Associated Press polls where they are receiving votes. Chris Vannini of The Athletic is taking notice of Auburn’s early success as well by placing the Tigers at No. 38 in this week’s Athletic 133 ranking.
The Tigers raised their stock by two places after earning a win over Samford and are one spot below this week’s opponent, Texas A&M. The Aggies bumped up one spot to No. 37 after defeating ULM last Saturday.
The USA TODAY Sports re-rank dropped Alabama out of the top 25 after last week’s struggle win over USF in Tampa. Vannini showed the Crimson Tide a little grace this week by dropping them to No. 18 from their No. 11 position after the loss to Texas in week two.
The top three of Georgia, Texas, and Florida State remain this week, with the biggest mover in the top 25 being Missouri, who moved from No. 53 to No. 24 after upsetting Kansas State last Saturday.
