Ak & Barak Show: Eddie Hearn discusses heavyweight landscape

Eddie Hearn discusses heavyweight landscape, including a prospective showdown between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury.

Eddie Hearn promotes arguably the biggest player on the heavyweight scene, titleholder Anthony Joshua.

Thus, Hearn is as invested in the division as anyone. He was a guest on The Ak and Barak Show, on which he discussed how the heavyweight picture could look when boxing gets back to business after the coronavirus threat subsides.

Of course, that includes the possibility of an all-U.K. blockbuster showdown between Joshua and Tyson Fury. Could it happen this year? Or will it have to wait until 2021, after Joshua defends his title against Kubrat Pulev and Fury fights Deontay Wilder again.

Here’s what Hearn had to say on the show.

Ak & Barak Show: Was Deontay Wilder’s comment about Tyson Fury out of line?

Akin “Ak” Reyes and Barak Bess discuss Deontay Wilder’s comment that he doesn’t see Tyson Fury as a champion.

Deontay Wilder recently said on The PBC Podcast that he doesn’t see Tyson Fury as a heavyweight champion.

That was a provocative thing to say given that Fury knocked out Wilder to win the title on Feb. 22 in Las Vegas. Not surprisingly, it drew criticism in some corners, including the one occupied by Fury.

Wilder added that he doesn’t consider Fury champion because of unfinished business – a projected third fight in their series – but that doesn’t seem to matter much.

How do DAZN commentators Akin “Ak” Reyes and Barak Bess feel about Wilder’s comment?

Here’s what the guys had to say on The Ak & Barak Show.
