No. 20 Florida just lost to winless Texas Southern in basketball as a 22.5-point favorite

Yikes.

Losing at home is never fun. Losing at home to an unranked team as a ranked team is less fun. Losing at home to an unranked team as a ranked team when you were favored by 22.5 points? Absolutely devastating.

It’s also what the No. 20 Florida Gators did on Monday night, losing to previously winless Texas Southern, 69-54. Yes, you read that right. They not only lost, but lost by 15. It wasn’t really close at any point as the Tigers took a 10-point lead into halftime.

Texas Southern took the lead at 16-15 with 11:30 remaining in the first half on a jumper from PJ Harvey, and they never looked back. Florida got it back to single digits at the 17:34 mark of the second half, but the deficit promptly jumped back to 11 with a three from the Tigers.

According to Tipico Sportsbook, the money line was -5000 for the Gators, who have wins over Florida State and Ohio State already this season. The Tigers only have one win, but boy is it a memorable one.

Ian Eagle really used a Megan Thee Stallion lyric during Texas Southern vs. Michigan and it was incredible

This is golden.

Ian Eagle has always been spectacularly fun when calling games.

He brings a certain energy and vibe to each and every call. You know when something exciting is happening because he knows exactly when to raise his energy level to let you know it’s to raise yours. It’s really incredible.

But what he’s not typically known for is reciting hip-hop lyrics in the middle of a broadcast. I mean, who even knew Ian Eagle was a rap guy? But, apparently, he is!

He was reading off notable alumni names from Texas Southern University during the TSU vs. Michigan game. Megan is a Houston native and attended TSU.

And that led to this amazing moment where he used the chorus from Megan’s “Body” song to sent TSU a message.

“If she could send a message to the team, it would be that if they’re going to rebound, they’ve got to use their bodyodyody…odyody.”

Very, very well done, Ian. Incredible.
