Aggies 2024 4-star DL commit Dealyn Evans selected as a Polynesian Bowl All-Star

Texas A&M’s top signee in the 2024 recruiting cycle, 4-star DL Dealyn Evans, has been selected as a Polynesian Bowl All-Star!

Texas A&M and head coach Jimbo Fisher landed one of the best all-around recruits in the 2024 cycle with four-star defensive lineman Dealyn Evans, who despite all the surrounding chatter after a couple of visits to LSU and Florida in the last couple of months, is completely locked in with the Maroon and White.

According to 247Sports, Evans has continued to rise up the recruiting ranks, currently sitting as the 70th-ranked player in the country, 10th-ranked defensive lineman, and 12th-ranked player in Texas.

Entering his final season at Pine Tree High School in Longview, Texas, Evans is coming off of his highly productive 2022 junior campaign, recording 58 tackles, 8 tackles for loss, 4 sacks, 2 pass breakups, and a fumble returned for a touchdown. Evans was just named a Polynesian Bowl All-Star ahead of his much anticipated senior season, joining 41 other future FBS stars at various positions.

This is a big-time honor for a player that is likely to find himself within the single-digit recruiting rankings at D-line by this time next year, and as his 6-4, 260-pound frame continues to add healthy muscle, especially once he enters a collegiate conditioning program, watch out ya’ll.

2024 4-star WR Drelon Miller places Texas A&M within his Top 9 program list

2024 4-star wide receiver Drelon Miller has placed Texas A&M within his Top 9 program list

Texas A&M received word on Sunday afternoon that 2024 four-star wide receiver Drelon Miller released his Top 9 program list after announcing so last week, and after taking seven unofficial visits to College Station, unsurprisingly found themselves among the other eight suitors.

As one of the most versatile offensive options in the 2024 cycle, Miller is ranked as the 15th wide receiver prospect, and the 15th-ranked prospect in Texas, according to 247Sports. Outside the Aggies, LSU, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, Duke, Penn State, USC, and Miami also made the list.

Drelon Miller is a do-it-all throwback player, who at 6-2 and 185 lbs recorded 59 receptions for 1,401 yards and 21 touchdowns, 40 carries for 361 yards and 3 rushing touchdowns, and 2 interceptions on defense. Spending a majority of his snap at the X receiver position, Miller is a nightmare matchup in press coverage due to his size, and from his 2022 junior tape is a mismatch in zone coverage and thrives in the screen game due to his quickness second gear speed out of his break.

Miller is set to announce his commitment on June 29th and don’t be surprised if Texas A&M and head coach Jimbo Fisher set up another visit to College Station to solidify Texas A&Mā€™s standing with one of the most talented prospects in the 2024 cycle.

2024 4-star Safety Jaydan Hardy places Texas A&M in his Top 5 program list

Texas A&M has made the cut for 4-star Safety Jaydan Hardy, who released his Top 5 program list on Thursday.

Texas A&M has made top list after top list for some of the best prospects the 2024 recruiting cycle has to offer, and that trend continued on Thursday as four-star safety Jaydan Hardy out of Lewisville, Texas released his Top 5 program list, which happened to include the Maroon and White.

The four other programs the Aggies will be competing with are made up of Oklahoma, Oregon, SMU, and Tennessee, as Hardy is currently projected to land with the Oklahoma Sooners according to 247Sports‘ Crystal Ball, but his recruiting process is far from over as things stand.

Standing at 5-11 and close to 170 lbs, Hardy is a versatile two-way player with notable ball skills who also spent time as a utility player on offense during his 2022 junior season, and recorded 42 tackles, 7 PBUs, 2 forced fumbles, and 1 interception on defense at the safety position. Hardy is ranked as the 12th safety prospect in the class and the 25th-ranked player in Texas. Texas A&M offered Hardy back in June of 2021, and even though he has yet to take an official visit to College Station, one is surely in the works.

Fun fact, Jaydan is the son of former Tennessee Volunteers linebacker Darryl Hardy, who went on to play six seasons in the NFL, earning a Super Bowl ring with the Dallas Cowboys in 1995.

Texas A&M will be closing out their 2022 season against the 5th-ranked LSU Tigers on Saturday night, and before Aggie fans prepare to shift their focus on basketball and baseball season, the Maroon and White look to play spoiler and potentially ruin the Tiger’s chances of reaching the college football playoff while they sit at 9-2, heading to the SEC Championship game next weekend.

On the recruiting front, it was revealed on Wednesday that the 2024 4-Star quarterback Air Noland would be attending the game on Saturday, while on Friday, news dropped top 2024 4-Star running back prospect Jerrick Gibson will also be in attendance. Gibson is one of the most revered offensive prospects in the 2024 class, and according to 247Sports, is a Composite 5-Star, ranked as the No.1 running back prospect in the country.

2024 4-Star quarterback Air Noland will be visiting during the season finale vs. LSU

2024 4-Star quarterback Air Noland will be visiting during the season finale vs. LSU

As Texas A&M gets closer and closer to the offseason where potential coaching changes and recruiting take over the airwaves, there’s still one game left for the Aggies in the 2022 season against the 5th-ranked LSU Tigers, who will be visiting on Saturday night with the hope to reach 10-2 on the season, and potentially reach the college football playoffs.

It was revealed on Wednesday that the 2024 4-Star quarterback prospect Air Noland out of Fairburn, Georgia will be visiting on Saturday to attend the Texas A&M vs. LSU game, with a chance to soak in the atmosphere during a night game at Kyle Field. According to 247Sports, Noland is a favorite to land with the Auburn Tigers, but after head coach, Jimbo Fisher offered him on Tuesday, Nov. 22nd, his visit this weekend could turn the tides in Texas A&M’s favor.

Without a quarterback signee in the 2023, or 2024 recruiting class for the Aggies, this is a huge visit to cap off the 2022 season, and if the Aggies were to pull off the upset against the Tigers? We’ll just have to wait and see.

Top 2024 QB prospect DJ Lagway sets commitment date

2024 Top QB prospect DJ Lagway sets commitment date

What a disastrous season it’s been for Texas A&M, and the biggest worry to come out of all of it has to be future of recruiting for a program that hasn’t impressed recruits due to their poor on field performance, while losing their top 2023 prospect in linebacker Anthony Hill, who de-committed on Nov. 7th. But look, It’s my job to spit out the facts, and not be a debbie downer just for the heck of it, so here’s some encouraging news:

Top 2024 quarterback prospect DJ Lagway has set his commitment date for December 7th, as the insanely talented prospect with elite arm talent and one of the highest ceilings in the 2024 recruiting class has Texas A&M as once of his final teams, joining Alabama, USC, Georgia, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Clemson, Florida, LSU, and Baylor. According to 247Sports, Lagway is rated as a 5-Star prospect, and is the 4th ranked player in Texas.

The Aggies are without a quarterback in the 2023 class, meaning that they will most likely have to venture into the transfer portal to add depth, as freshman quarterback Conner Weigman as solidified the starting spot for what looks to be the next couple of seasons. As one of the programs priority targets for quite some time now, snagging Lagway would not only be a key building block for the future, but a sign that head coach Jimbo Fisher’s controversial future with the program may secure his future, for now.

2024 Offensive lineman Ashton Funk commits to Texas A&M

2024 Offensive lineman Ashton Funk commits to Texas A&M

On Sunday afternoon, 2024 3-Star offensive lineman Ashton Funk pledged his commitment to Texas A&M, as the Aggies add their second commit to the class as Funk joins 4-Star defensive lineman Dealyn Evans. Fun fact, Ashton is an Aggie legacy as both of his parents are Texas A&M graduates.

Ashton Funk is listed as 6’7″, 285 pounds, and is in the midst of his junior season at Tompkins High School in Katy, Texas. As one of the top targets for the Aggies in the 2024 recruiting cycle, Funk has also received offers from the likes of Alabama, Auburn, LSU, and Michigan, but after his unofficial visit to College Station during the annual recruiting pool party on July 30th, Funk has officially found his new home after graduation.

As a versatile offensive lineman, Funk plays primarily at tackle but has the size, strength, and footwork to play both guard positions as well. For Texas A&M, this is a huge pick-up to add to their already elite 2023 O-line class, meaning that the future in the trenches is as bright as it’s been in a number of years. Congratulations! Gig ’em, Ashton!

Recruiting update: Multiple future recruits will attend Ole Miss game this weekend

Eight 2023, 2024, and 2024 recruits will attend the Aggies’ primetime matchup with the 15th-ranked Ole Miss Rebels on Saturday

The Aggies are gearing up for their primetime matchup with the 15th-ranked Ole Miss Rebels on Saturday night in what should be a packed Kyle Field as the team hasn’t played in front of the 12th man in 42 days, one of their longest stretches in the program’s history.

Since the start of one of the busiest news weeks for the Aggies season, ranging from player suspensions to season-ending injuries, one of the stories that fell under the radar came to light later in the week, as eight 2023, 2024, and 2024 recruits will visit College Station this weekend, and attend the Ole Miss game set to kick off at 6:30 PM CT. on the SEC Network.

The eight players who will be attending the game are listed as current Texas A&M commit, 2023 defensive tackle David Hicks Jr., 2023 Texas commit Malk Muhammad, 2023 Edge Tomarrian Parker, 2023 Michigan State commit, running back Kedrick Reescano, 2024 quarterback DJ Lagway, 2024 defensive tackle T.A. Cunningham, 2024 linebacker Payton Pierce, and 2025 quarterback Bekkem Kritza.

Yes, Texas A&M is 3-4 and 1-3 in the SEC, but this is one of the most important weekends not only for a team looking to win their first game in nearly a month, but for a staff that needs to impress the eight highly touted recruits in attendance enough for them to really consider the Aggies late in the recruiting process. Gig ’em, and BTHO Ole Miss.

Top Aggies 2024 target QB DJ Lagway is set to attend the week 3 matchup with Miami

Top Aggies 2024 target QB DJ Lagway is set to attend the week 3 matchup with Miami

As Head coach Jimbo Fisher and the 24th ranked Aggies prepare for their week 3 matchup with the 13th ranked Miami Hurricanes, one of the more underreported stories going into the weekend is the recruiting visitor list that has been building for quite some time now, with a high number of 2023 and 2024 priority prospects set to attend the primetime kickoff.

According to leading recruiting site On3, top 2024 duel-threat quarterback DJ Lagway, who recently visited College Station on Sept. 3rd while attending Texas A&M’s season-opening win against Sam Houston State, is set to visit and attend the Miami game. Currently, without a quarterback in the 2023 or 2024 class, Jimbo Fisher & Co. know that preparing for the future at the postion is vital, as the current QB depth chart may be the deepest the program has had in years, but due to the popularity of the transfer portal, departures could easily occur sooner than later.

Overall, Lagway is a 4-Star recruit, the 31st ranked player and the 5th ranked quarterback in the class, as well as the 3rd, ranked player in Texas, and is presently predicted towards the Aggies at 67.0% in accordance with On3 consensus rankings

2024 and 2025 Texas A&M Recruiting Pool Party attendees

Texas A&M is coming off its busiest recruiting weekend of this year as the annual recruiting pool party began on Saturday, as a large number of 2023, 2024, and 2025 recruits made their way to College Station, Texas to soak in the culture, visit the facilities, and meet with the coaching staff to discuss their impending football future.

Before the weekend even started, two big-time surprise visitors were announced, as 5-Star Quarterback and USC commit Malachi Nelson landed in College Station for an official visit on Friday, and current Alabama commit 5-Star Safety Tony Mitchell arrived on Saturday.

Saturday started off with a bang when the No.1 Linebacker, and 15th ranked prospect in the 2023 class Anthony Hill announced his commitment to the Aggies as the clock struck noon, choosing Texas A&M over rival Texas, Alabama, and Oklahoma, and USC. Hill is going into this senior season at Ryan High School in Denton, Texas.

Later that night, the Aggies struck recruiting gold once again, this time receiving the news that Shiner, Texas, Running back Dalton Brooks announced his commitment to Texas A&M, ranked as the 67th player in the 2023 class, and choosing the Aggies over Texas and Alabama. He is presumed to be converted to Safety at the collegiate level.

Then Sunday A&M added their first commitment in the class of 2024 with defensive lineman Dealyn Evans announcing his pledge to the Aggies.

As the Aggies have seemingly found their recruiting momentum, more commitments are potentially on the horizon, and we’ll be here to report all of it! Now, here is the list of the visitors this weekend from 2024 and 2025 classes.
