Texas A&M is reportedly trending towards landing two elite 2025 propsects

Texas A&M’s 2025 recruiting class could see two more commits in the coming weeks

Texas A&M’s 38-23 win over LSU will go down in Aggie history as one of greatest comebacks over the past decade-plus, as the Tiger’s 17-7 halftime lead evaporated after Aggies’ head coach Mike Elko made the switch at quarterback to dual-threat Marcel Reed, who jolted the offense to five consecutive scoring drives.

While the Aggies are focused on traveling to face South Carolina for a second consecutive primetime game, Elko and staff made significant strides on the recruiting trail, already landing three commitments in the 2026 class after Saturday’s win, while it has now been confirmed that the Aggies are trending towards landing two prospects in the 2025 cycle.

2025 4-star wide receiver CJ Wiley, alongside 2025 5-star Edge Javion Hilson, both attended Saturday’s game, experiencing everything the program had to offer while taking part in the blackout while watching the Aggies defeat a top 10-ranked team in front of over 108,000 fans in Kyle Field.

Just a day after visiting, Wiley announced his decommitment from Florida State, immediately spurring speculation that the Aggies are now the front-runner for the Georgia product.

On Tuesday, On3 Recruiting analyst Steve Wiltfong revealed that Wiley and Hilson are now trending towards signing with Texas A&M. However, Georiga, LSU, and Colorado are also in the mix for Wiley.

Hilson, who has remained a favorite to land with the Texas Longhorns, will reportedly return to College Station for Texas A&M vs. Texas and, according to Wiltfong, feels the Aggies are the team to watch for him going forward.

2025 4-star WR and Florida State commit will attend Texas A&M vs. LSU

Add another key 2025 prospect to Texas A&M’s long visitors list for Saturday’s LSU matchup

Texas A&M’s critical Week 9 home matchup vs. 8th-ranked LSU also poses another opportunity to host recruiting prospects from the 2025, 2026, and 2027 recruiting classes inside what will be a blackout in a close-to-sold-out Kyle Field.

Needing to add at least one or two more wide receiver prospects to join 4-star Kelshaun Johnson and 3-star Tristan Norman in the cycle, Rival recruiting insider Landyn Rosow has gotten word that 2025 4-star WR CJ Wiley, who is currently committed to Florida State, will also make his way to College Station on Saturday night.

Standing at 6-4 and nearly 200 pounds, Wiley is coincidentally compared to current Texas A&M junior wide receiver Noah Thomas due to both players’ length and large catch radius while possessing the athleticism and downfield speed to produce explosive plays in the passing game.

While Florida State continues to struggle this season, it’s not surprising that current commits are at least looking at their options before signing day. Listed on 247Sports 2025 “Freaks list,” Wiley is coming off his best season during his 2023 junior campaign, recording 1,473 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns and a 21.7 yard per reception mark.

According to 247Sports, Wiley is currently positioned as the 134th-ranked prospect in the 2025 class, the 18th-ranked wide receiver prospect, and the 19th-ranked prospect in Georgia.

Texas A&M will host LSU at home on Saturday, Oct. 26th, at 6:30 p.m. CT. The game will air on ABC.

2025 4-star WR out of Chatsworth (CA) places Texas A&M in his Top 5 program list

Texas A&M is now a finalist for 2025 4-star WR Jaden Nickens

Texas A&M’s 2025 recruiting class isn’t talent-deficient by any means. Still, outside of wide receivers Kelshaun Johnson and Tristan Norman, first-year head coach Mike Elko knows that landing at least one more dynamic receiver prospect is the key to improving the Aggies’ future passing game.

Under first-year OC Collin Klein, the program has already landed commitments from two elite quarterback prospects: 2025 5-star Husan Longstreet and 2026 4-star Helaman Casuga.

This makes it even more vital to provide both signal callers with solid options through the air, which the program has sorely lacked outside of several former players.

On Friday, ahead of Texas A&M’s Week 9 home showdown against 8th-ranked LSU, it was revealed that 2025 4-star wide receiver Jaden Nickens out of Chatsworth, California, has included Texas A&M in his Top 5 program list. The Aggies join Kansas, Oklahoma State, Cal, and Georgia.

A former Oklahoma commit, Nickens is a duel-sport athlete who received Division 1 offers from Auburn, Oklahoma State, and Ole Miss.

According to 247Sports, Nickens is currently positioned as the 30th-ranked wide receiver and 25th-ranked prospect in Oklahoma.

2025 3-star WR and Texas A&M commit will place in the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game

One of Texas A&M’s 2025 wide receiver commits will make an appearance in the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game

Texas A&M’s 2025 recruiting class is top-heavy in the offensive and defensive trenches, while 5-star quarterback Husan Longstreet obviously sticks out as the most talented commitment in the cycle. However, one highly underrated Aggie commit has continued to stick out during his senior season.

2025 3-star wide receiver Tristan Norman, who committed to the Aggies back in joining, is likely only being overlooked due to his 6-0, 167-pound frame. Still, regarding his traits as a receiver, there’s a reason a video of him making an impressive catch makes its way to social media every week.

So far this season, Norman has nearly matched his 2023 receiving production during his final season at Carver HS in Montgomery, Alabama, reeling in 24 receptions for 465 yards and 5 touchdowns with a 19.4 yards per reception average. Due to his consistent play, Norman has accepted an invitation to play in the annual Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game.

Set for December 14th, the Norman will play for the Alabama team as Texas A&M’s lone representative. While Norman doesn’t have the flashy 5-star designation in his favor, he now has a chance to show off his skillset on an even bigger stage before officially signing with the Aggies in the coming months.

According to 247Sports, Norman is currently positioned as the 55th-ranked wide receiver and 21st-ranked prospect in Alabama.

14th-ranked Texas A&M (6-1, 4-0 SEC) will host the 8th-ranked LSU Tigers in one of the year’s biggest games, mainly due to the playoff implications for both programs who sit atop the SEC standings.

This week, Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko’s media blitz focused on the Aggies’ progress this season. The program’s impressive culture change under Elko’s leadership and vast influence is one of the primary reasons for A&M’s 6-1 starts and 2-0 SEC road record.

While the play on the field this Saturday will likely come down to the quarterback battle between Texas A&M’s Conner Weigman and LSU’s Garrett Nussmeier, this is also a big weekend for recruiting, as Elko and his staff will host a very long and talented list of 2025, 2026 and 2027 prospects, including several of the Aggies’ 2025 commits.

2025 4-star LB and Texas A&M commit has reportedly shut down his recruitment

According to a source, 2025 4-star LB Noah Mikhail is “100% committed” to Texas A&M

Texas A&M’s 2025 recruiting cycle is the first official class for Mike Elko amid his first season with the program as the first-year head coach. He has owned the California region, landing commitments from three of the state’s top 10 ranked 2025 prospects.

2025 4-star linebacker Noah Mikhail is one of those three players who pledged his commitment to Texas A&M earlier this year, joining 4-star cornerback Adonyss Currie and 5-star quarterback Husan Longstreet, while top-ranked cornerback and current Alabama commit Dijon Lee is still in the mix.

Mikhail’s commitment was never in doubt, though the red-hot Oregon Ducks have been attempting to flip the rising backer over the last few months. This led to Texas A&M defensive coordinator Jay Bateman visiting the senior last week.

On Saturday, it was revealed by Texas A&M recruiting insider Jaxson Callaway that Mikhail will not take any more recruiting visits and remains 100% locked in with the Aggies before putting pen to paper later this year.

During his 2023 junior season, Mikhail racked up 166 tackles, one sack, 15 tackles for loss, three pass breakups, and an interception at Bonita HS in La Verne, California.

According to 247Sports Composite, Mikhail is currently positioned as the 92nd-ranked prospect in the 2025 cycle, the 8th-ranked linebacker, and the 7th-ranked prospect in California.

Texas A&M’s DL coaches have been elite recruiters in the trenches

Texas A&M’s defensive line is in good hands under DL coaches Sean Spencer and Tony Jerod-Eddie

Texas A&M’s defensive line is coming into its own this season, as junior defensive end Nic Scourton is looking like the All-American-level player that led the Big Ten in sacks in 2023 during his final season at Purdue, while junior DL Albert Regis has become one of the better run stoppers in the SEC.

On Friday, 2026 4-star defensive lineman Trashawn Ruffin announced his commitment to Texas A&M, as first-year Aggies defensive line coaches Sean Spencer and Tony Jerod-Eddie once again landed a top-tier DL with an NFL future in less than a year of employment with the University.

Since both coaches arrived in Aggieland, Nic Scourton, along with current defensive linemen Cashius Howell, Rodas Johnson, and Josh Celiscar, make up the 2024 contributors from the transfer portal this offseason, while the recruiting performance has been equally impressive in the 2024, and 2025, and now 2026 recruiting classes. Here are the defensive linemen the Aggies have landed:

2024 recruiting class:

  • 4-star DL Solomon Williams
  • 4-star DL Kendall Jackson

2025 recruiting class:

  • 4-star DL DJ Sanders
  • 4-star DL Landon Rink
  • 4-star DL Chace Sims
  • 4-star EDGE Marco Jones

2026 recruiting class:

  • 4-star DL Trashawn Ruffin.

Knowing both coaches’ playing backgrounds, including Tony Jerod-Eddie’s impressive career at Texas A&M, young defensive line prospects are trusting the process that head coach Mike Elko continues to preach, which is also relayed by his coaching staff.

2025 4-star WR and Texas A&M commit will visit the Aggies after visiting Texas

2025 4-star WR and Texas A&M commit Kelshaun Johnson will visit College Station next weekend after visitng Texas

Texas A&M’s 2025 recruiting class is inching closer to signing another highly talented cycle filled with future starters at nearly every position. One of the rising wide receiver prospects is 4-star Kelshaun Johnson, who chose the Aggies over the Texas Longhorns earlier this year.

While a commitment is nice, it’s somewhat meaningless until every prospect puts pen to paper during the early or national signing period, as the month of October is usually when a bulk of longtime commits end up flipping to other programs, as Texas A&M has felt the pain late flips after former 2025 5-star WR Cam Coleman chose Auburn after Jimbo Fisher’s dismissal.

Head coach Mike Elko knows that Kelshaun Johnson’s speed and route running skillset have quickly made him one of the top offensive prospects without a 5-star designation.

After it was revealed that Johnson would visit Texas during the Longhorns’ matchup with Georgia on Saturday, Rivals insider Landyn Rosow revealed that the senior receiver will head back to College Station next weekend for Texas A&M’s Week 9 home matchup with LSU.

According to Rivals, Johnson is currently positioned as the 174th-ranked prospect in the 2026 class, the 32nd-ranked wide receiver prospect, and the 24th-ranked prospect in Texas.

Texas A&M will face Mississippi State on the road on Saturday, Oct. 19, at 3:15 p.m. CT. The game will air on the SEC Network.

Several Texas A&M 2025 commits soar in updated 247Sports recruiting rankings

Wednesday’s Top247 recruiting update feautured several Texas A&M commits soaring in the rankings

Texas A&M’s 2025 recruiting class looks more impressive by the day, and Wednesday’s 247Sports recruiting update furthered that narrative as four 2025 Aggie commits have risen in the rankings, led by 5-star quarterback Husan Longstreet.

Amid head coach Mike Elko’s first season with the program, the Aggies are currently 5-1 and 3-0 in SEC play, sitting in first place in the conference before taking on Mississippi State in Starkville (MS) this Saturday. On the recruiting trail, Elko has A&M’s 2025 cycle and is now ranked 8th nationally after Monday’s update.

Out of the program’s Top 22 commits, Husan Longstreet rose three spots from 31st to 28th, while 4-star defensive lineman DJ Sanders rose 11 from 73rd to 62nd. However, it was the meteoric rise of 4-star safety Rashad Johnson (259-74) and 4-star cornerback Jamar Beal-Goines (193-94).

One of A&M’s most prized prospects, 4-star wide receiver Kelshaun Johnson, rose from 161-112th, while Elko’s latest commitment, 4-star offensive lineman Nelson McGuire, was the biggest riser going from 348th to 139th.

All in all, Elko and his staff should be very excited about what the next wave of freshmen will bring to the program sooner than later.

Texas A&M will face Mississippi State on the road on Saturday, Oct. 19, at 3:15 p.m. CT. The game will air on the SEC Network.

2025 5-star CB and Alabama commit will reportedly visit Texas A&M next month

2025 5-star cornerback Dijon Lee will vist Texas A&M next month

It has been confirmed that one of the top cornerback prospects in the 2025 recruiting class will visit Texas A&M next month, as 5-star CB Dijon Lee, currently committed to Alabama, will attend Texas A&M’s season finale showdown vs. the Texas Longhorns.

Texas A&M’s 2024 season has been a surprising success to some, as the Aggies sit at 5-1 and conference-leading 3-0 in the SEC, as new head coach Mike Elko deserves a ton of credit for building the roster through the transfer portal, while the 2025 recruiting class already looks highly impressive with 22 commitments.

Lee, who has been on Elko and defensive coordinator Jay Bateman’s radar for nearly a year, has kept in contact with the coaching staff. This season’s success, especially in the secondary, could have intrigued Lee enough to give the Aggies another look.

So far in the 2025 cycle, Elko has owned recruiting in California, landing commitments from 4-star CB Adonyss Currie, 4-star linebacker Noah Mikhail, and 5-star quarterback Husan Longstreet.

According to 247Sports, Lee is currently ranked as the 31st-ranked prospect in the 2025 class, the fourth-ranked cornerback, and the second-ranked prospect in California.
