2026 4-star DL out of Arlington (TX) will visit Texas A&M this weekend

2026 4-star defensive line Jesse Ford is headed to College Station this weekend

Texas A&M’s annual recruiting pool party is slated for this weekend, providing Mike Elko and his staff a great opportunity to add to the program’s 19 commitments in the 2025 recruiting class while hosting several prospects in the 2026 cycle.

One of those 2026 prospects who will head to College Station this weekend is 4-star defensive lineman Jesse Ford out of Arlington, Texas, one of the rising pass rushers in class. A “breakout” player during his 2023 sophomore season at Martin HS, Ford dominated in the trenches, leading to his nearly 20 offers, including Texas and Ole Miss.

Knowing his potential early on, former head coach Jimbo Fisher offered Ford last summer and has continued his relationship with the program through the new coaching staff, as this will be his first campus visit since.

Standing 6’4″ and 235 pounds, Ford possesses the versatility, twitchy athleticism, and strength to play in any scheme. He thrives as a 3-4 defensive end and 4-3 defensive tackle while producing 40 tackles, 12.5 tackles, and seven sacks during his sophomore campaign.

According to 247Sports Composite, Ford is currently positioned as the 80th-ranked prospect, the 8th-ranked defensive line prospect, and the 8th-ranked prospect in Texas.

2026 4-star WR out of Waco (TX) will reportedly visit Texas A&M this month

2026 4-star WR London Smith will reportedly visit Texas A&M at the end of the month

The recruiting dead period has finally been lifted, meaning recruits can continue visiting programs as the summer winds down. At the end of the month, the annual Texas A&M recruiting pool party will take place, featuring a long list of 2025 and 2026 prospects.

After it was announced that 2026 4-star offensive tackle John Turntine III would join the list for Texas A&M’s annual recruiting pool party, Rivals insider Landyn Rosow continued releasing the names, including 2026 4-star wide receiver London Smith will reportedly head to College Station at the end of the month.

Set to enter his junior season at University HS in Waco, Texas, Smith has received nearly 30 offers, as Texas A&M offered him this time last summer, just months before producing his best numbers in his entire playing career. Smith is currently weighing his options after several camp visits this summer.

However, Baylor could begin to stand out as the hometown school, while Smith’s dad is ranked 8th all-time in tackles as a starting safety for the Bears in the 1990s.

During his 2023 sophomore season, Smith, who stands at 6’0″ and 175 pounds, recorded 51 receptions, 876 yards, and 11 touchdowns on the year.

According to Rivals, Smith is currently ranked as the 36th-ranked prospect in the 2026 cycle, the fourth-ranked prospect in Texas, and the sixth-ranked wide receiver in the class.

Texas A&M is reportedly targeting 2026 4-star QB out of Jackson (AL)

2026 4-star QB Landon Duckworth is now a Texas A&M target after re-opening his recruitment

Texas A&M’s recruiting success since new head coach Mike Elko entered the scene has been nothing short of impressive. The former Aggie defensive coordinator wasted no time shoring up the program’s 2024 cycle while already landing 19 commitments in the 2025 cycle.

Hoping to put the finishing touches on the 2025 class this fall, the annual recruiting pool party, which takes place on the final weekend of July, could produce a handful of commitments in both recruiting cycles as we’ve witnessed in years past.

With new offensive coordinator Collin Klein now controlling Texas A&M’s play calling, Klein landed his first quarterback commit in 2025 5-star Husan Longstreet. Longstreet possesses the arm talent and dual-threat ability to thrive in Klein’s offensive scheme in the near future.

So far, Elko and his staff have secured two commits in the 2026 recruiting class. According to Rivals’ Sam Spiegelman, 2026 4-star QB Landon Duckworth is now a major target for Elko and Co., along with several other programs.

Set to enter his junior season, Duckworth decommitted from South Carolina on June 25, re-opening his recruitment while receiving plenty of interest from Texas A&M, Oregon, and UCF. South Carolina is clearly still in the race.

Due to the transfer portal’s evergrowing popularity, Texas A&M, like every program, must be prepared to lose players after every position year after year, making this news unsurprising.

During his 2023 sophomore season at Jackson HS, the Alabama native threw for 1,971 yards, 27 touchdowns, and just four interceptions while running for nearly 400 yards and five touchdowns on the ground.

According to 247Sports, Duckworth is currently positioned as the 95th-ranked prospect in the 2026 cycle, the 7th-ranked quarterback, and the 7th-ranked prospect in Alabama.

2026 5-star OT out of Fort Worth (TX) will reportedly visit Texas A&M this month

2026 5-star offensive tackle John Turntine III will head to College Station later this month

The recruiting dead period has lifted, and recruits can continue visiting programs as the summer winds down. At the end of the month, the annual Texas A&M recruiting pool party will take place, featuring a long list of 2025 and 2026 prospects.

As the news regarding who will attend the event continues to trickle out, Rivals insider Landyn Rosow has confirmed that 2026 5-star offensive tackle John Turntine III out of Fort Worth (TX) will attend on the final weekend of July, taking his first visit to Texas A&M since early April.

Standing at 6-5 and nearly 300 pounds, Turntine is one heck of an athlete. He started at left tackle during his 2023 sophomore season at North Crowley HS, consistently exhibiting impressive footwork and hand placement in pass protection. His upfield speed-to-power skillset makes him a future run-blocking aficionado.

Within Texas A&M’s 2025 recruiting class, head coach Mike Elko and O-line coach Adam Cushing have already landed five offensive line commitments, looking to continue the momentum in the 2026 cycle.

According to Rivals, Turntine is currently positioned as the 23rd-ranked prospect, the No. 1-ranked prospect in Texas, and the 6th-ranked offensive tackle in the cycle.

2026 5-star QB out of Folsom (CA) is a confirmed visitor to Texas A&M this month

2026 5-star QB Ryder Lyons will officially visit Texas A&M at the end of the month

Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko has already proven that succeeding Jimbo Fisher, one of the top recruiters for nearly a decade-plus, isn’t impossible. His three-year DC career with the Aggies proved he already has the recruiting chops to contend in the SEC.

After two years as Duke’s head coach, Elko’s utilization of the transfer portal resulted in an impressive 16 wins in just two seasons in Durham while working with less recruiting talent compared to what he inherited ahead of his inaugural 2024 season.

Already landing 19 commitments in Elko’s first 2025 recruiting class, A&M’s 2026 cycle is slowly gaining momentum this summer after landing two defensive back prospects and ahead of Texas A&M’s annual recruiting pool party at the end of the month, one of the top 2026 signal callers will officially make a trip to College Station.

According to Rivals insider Landyn Rosow, 2026 5-star QB Ryder Lyons will attend the annual pool party, which has produced many commitments over the years and will continue under Elko and Co.

Lyons possesses impressive arm, accuracy, and elite touch. He completed over 68% of his passes for 3,578 yards, 38 touchdowns, and just eight interceptions on the year while running for 929 yards and 23 (!) touchdowns on the ground during his 2023 sophomore season at Folsom HS.

According to 247Sports, Lyons is ranked 11th in the 2026 cycle, third in quarterback prospect, and second in California prospect.

2026 4-star RB DeZephen Walker will reportedly visit Texas A&M

2026 4-star running back DeZephen Walker will reportedly visit Texas A&M next week

For those wondering why recruiting news has been scarce for the bulk of the month, the dead period, which means recruits aren’t allowed to visit during it, will officially end next week.

With Texas A&M’s 2025 recruiting class still the focus, Mike Elko and his staff are starting to gain traction in the 2026 cycle, already landing two commitments: 3-star defensive backs Markel Ford and Ryan Gilbert.

Already landing a commitment from 2025 4-star running back Deondrae “Tiger” Riden, Elko is looking to add more future depth to the position. The current Aggie running back stable only has a couple of seasons left before running out of eligibility or the transfer portal taking effect.

According to Rival’s Greg Smith, 2026 4-star running back DeZephen Walker out of Peculiar, Missouri, will reportedly visit Texas A&M next week after receiving an offer from the program in February.

Standing at 5’11” and 190 pounds, Walker is a fluid runner with great vision and quick feet. He also possesses impressive balance once he makes his first cut.

According to Rivals, Walker is the 59th-ranked prospect in the class, the 2nd-ranked prospect in Missouri, and the third-ranked running back prospect in the country.

2026 4-star WR Dequane Prevo has revealed his upcoming commitment date

Texas A&M’s 2026 recruiting class could see a boost from one of the top playmakers in the cycle

Mike Elko’s recruiting success should continue into the next offseason. The former Duke head coach and Texas A&M defensive coordinator has proven to be one of the more consistent recruiters throughout his coaching career. Already securing 19 commitments in the 2025 cycle, Elko’s focus will soon turn to the 2026 recruiting class.

One of the top playmakers in the cycle, 2026 4-star wide receiver Dequane Provo out of Texarkana, Texas, has been atop A&M’s radar for quite some time, going back to former head coach Jimbo Fisher offering him during the 2022 season.

Since then, Prevo has taken several unofficial visits to College Station; his recent trek to Aggieland included participating in one of Mike Elko’s various summer camps last month. While most prospects wait until the start of their final high school season to make their decision, Prevo is ready to announce at the end of this month.

On Tuesday, Prevo revealed that he will announce his commitment on Thursday, July 30. In two weeks, he will choose between Penn State, USC, Arkansas, Baylor, and Texas A&M.

According to 247Sports, Prevo, who is 5’10” and 160 pounds, is currently the 16th-ranked athlete and the 32nd-ranked prospect in Texas.

Texas A&M offers 2026 4-star CB out of out of Houston (TX)

2026 4-star cornerback Chace Calicut has received an offer from Texas A&M

Texas A&M’s 2025 recruiting class, which includes 18 commitments, is entering its final stages amid a busy summer, as head coach Mike Elko and his staff are also focused on gaining as many commitments as possible in the 2026 cycle before next summer’s complete focus.

So far, A&M’s 2026 class has landed verbals from three-star safety Markel Ford and three-star cornerback Ryan Gilbert. As of this weekend, Elko has fielded an offer to North Shore HS cornerback Chace Calicut, who is entering his junior season at one of the most prestigious football programs in the country.

Having received nearly 15 offers so far, Calicut has the length, speed, and quickness to develop into a starting outside corner at the next level, currently standing at 6’3″ and 190 pounds.

Mike Elko’s defensive scheme requires taller corners to press receivers at the line of scrimmage while playing with consistent physicality, which are traits Calicut already brings to the table.

According to Rivals, Calicut is currently positioned as the 200th-ranked prospect in the 2026 class, the 24th-ranked prospect in Texas, and the 14th-ranked cornerback prospect.

2025 5-star OT Lamar Brown has released his Top 12 program list

2026 5-star offensive lineman Lamar Brown is down to 12 programs

The top prospect in the 2026 recruiting class is far from making a final decision, but things are beginning to come together. Five-star offensive lineman Lamar Brown has released his Top 12 program list after visiting several schools this summer.

While some blue blood programs are just now figuring out how talented Brown is, I’d expect every notable program in the country to come calling by this time next summer.

After attending one of the Texas A&M’s camps, head coach Mike Elko and new offensive line coach Adam Cushing were blown away by Brown’s advanced footwork and strength in one-on-one pass-blocking reps.

While NIL and distance from Baton Rouge (LA) will play a part in his recruitment, Brown’s program list is very diverse, including LSU, Tulane, UCF, Michigan, Ole Miss, Miami, Tennessee, Alabama, USC, Florida State, Houston, and Texas A&M.

As he enters his junior season at University Lab HS, Lamar Brown is one of the most versatile prospects. His size, strength, and athleticism make him a potential asset on either side of the trenches, and his pass-rushing ability is a testament to his versatility, even as his collegiate position remains uncertain.

According to Rivals, Brown is currently positioned as the 14th-ranked prospect in the 2026 class, the No. 1-ranked IOL, and the 2nd-ranked prospect in Louisiana.

Texas A&M recently hosted 2026 4-star WR out of Texarkana (TX)

2026 4-star wide receiver Dequane Prevo is coming off a camp invite/visit to Texas A&M

While Texas A&M’s 2025 recruiting class has continued to take shape this offseason, head coach Mike Elko and his offensive staff are focused on adding future playmakers in the passing game, which includes a 2026 wide receiver with plenty to offer on the field.

Last Thursday, four-star wide receiver Dequane Prevo, out of the 2026 recruiting cycle, attended one of Texas A&M’s annual summer camps while meeting with Elko to discuss his future. The Texarkana (TX) native is set to enter his junior season at Liberty-Eylau HS.

Dequane Prevo, a 2026 wide receiver prospect, is a standout in the making. At 5’10” and 160 pounds, he’s a dynamic player with the potential to add more weight to his frame. Already a force to be reckoned with on the field, Prevo’s agility and speed make him a top choice for Texas A&M, as predicted by multiple analysts.

As a two-sport athlete, playing basketball and participating in multiple events in Track & Field, Prevo’s speed is undeniable, running a reported 22.77 200-meter dash at the end of the 2023 season.

According to 247Sports, Prevo is currently positioned as the 245th-ranked prospect in the 2026 class, the 16th-ranked athlete, and the 32nd-ranked prospect in Texas.
