Deshaun Watson a Steeler? Terry Bradshaw likes that idea

SportsPulse: He admittedly hadn’t thought about it until now, but Steelers legend Terry Bradshaw sure loves the idea of bringing Deshaun Watson to Pittsburgh.

Watch: Terry Bradshaw knew ‘Doug’ was going to be good in Cincinnati

Terry Bradshaw dug himself a hole and his teammates helped him out, calling Cincy rookie Joe Burrow, “Doug”

Doug, Joe. What’s the difference when it comes to getting a name right?

Terry Bradshaw was fortunate his teammates were on their game before the Los Angeles Chargers-Las Vegas Raiders matchup on Thursday Night Football.

Bradshaw was going over the QB first-round class of 2020 mentioning Justin Herbert, Tua Tagovailoa, and Doug in Cincinnati.

Terry Bradshaw thinks the Rams need to trade for Lions QB Matthew Stafford

FOX’s Terry Bradshaw made a crazy suggestion on Sunday morning

On the Week 13 FOX Sports pregame show, analyst and Hall of Fame quarterback Terry Bradshaw made a bold declaration. Bradshaw said the Los Angeles Rams need to make a trade to get Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford.

Bradshaw was riffing in the context of talking about the Rams, not the Lions. In noting the recent struggles of Rams QB Jared Goff and the apparent friction between Goff and head coach Sean McVay, Bradshaw boldly declared that McVay needs to “sit his (expletive) down” because the Rams “cannot win with the way (Goff) is playing right now.”

After noting Goff’s $134 million contract being problematic, Bradshaw proposed a solution. Matthew John Stafford.

“There’s a quarterback out there named Matthew Stafford. And if you could, I would make a move to get rid of the one you’ve got and bring in Stafford,” Bradshaw stated.

The other members of the FOX panel, including Jimmy Johnson and Michael Strahan, laughed off Bradshaw’s rant.

Star-studded FOX Sports NFL pregame shows casts won’t be in studio

Expect to see different talent on FOX’s pregame shows for Week 11

The issue that plagued the FOX Sports college studio team a few weeks ago — COVID-19 in some form — has reached into the network’s NFL show on Sunday.

It’s unclear why a change was made, but FOX made it clear the decision was made “out of an abundance of caution.”

FOX Sports has released a statement saying its usual team — Howie Long, Michael Strahan with reports from NFL insider Jay Glazer — will not be in the studio for Week 11. Jimmy Johnson has not been in the studio all season, working from Florida as a precaution because of the pandemic.

Chris Myers, Charles Woodson, and Reggie Bush will fill in as the studio crew for both shows.

“In accordance with CDC guidance, Los Angeles County Department of Public Health safety guidelines – and out of an abundance of caution for our team – Sunday’s FOX NFL KICKOFF and FOX NFL SUNDAY pregame shows from our Los Angeles studio will not include their regular casts. Filling in as host for both shows will be Chris Myers with analysts Charles Woodson and Reggie Bush in studio, while members of FOX NFL SUNDAY cast will appear via remote. We look forward to the return of both casts to their regular posts soon.”

Additionally, those on FOX Sports NFL Kickoff will be out of their usual workplace. That crew includes Charissa Thompson beside 14-time NFL Pro Bowler and Hall of Famer Tony Gonzalez, four-time Pro Bowler Vick, Super Bowl winning-defensive coordinator Dave Wannstedt, veteran analyst/reporter Peter Schrager, longtime sports media personality Colin Cowherd and Cooper Manning, who contributes segments throughout the season.

Terry Bradshaw believes Steelers will go undefeated

With the Baltimore Ravens still on their schedule, Terry Bradshaws prediction of a Pittsburgh Steelers undefeated season is tough to swallow

Someone might want to check on former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback and current television analyst Terry Bradshaw. It appears he’s lost his mind recently, predicting the Steelers will go undefeated this season.

Bradshaw put a few asterisks on his prediction which nearly makes it a moot point if he weren’t one of the more recognizable talking heads in the sport.

First, Bradshaw said his prediction is based on quarterback Ben Roethlisberger remaining healthy for the rest of the season. That’s a pretty big “if” considering Roethlisberger has played a full 16-game season just once in the last five years. It’s even more tenuous since Roethlisberger is coming off major elbow surgery last season and has been dealing with injuries to both knees this season. He’s not helped by the fact he’s 38 years old and has been sacked or hit 24 times already this season.

Beyond Roethlisberger’s health, Bradshaw put quite the addendum on his prediction:

“The only way the Pittsburgh Steelers lose a football game is they just have a letdown.”

Well, duh. Every team will win if they don’t have a letdown. It’s precisely why the NFL actually plays games instead of just choosing the winner based on their stat sheet or gut feeling. It’s worth pointing out Bradshaw talked about a near letdown against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 9, which is a fairly strong indictment considering Dallas was starting their fourth quarterback of the season in that game and is third in the worst division in football.

But Bradshaw was undoubtedly pointing to a belief that Pittsburgh is the best team in each of their remaining games, rather than it already being a predetermined fate. However, that should irk the Baltimore Ravens and their fans considering the Steelers have the Ravens on their schedule in a few weeks.

While the Steelers did indeed beat the Ravens in Week 8, it was far from a dominant victory. Baltimore was either tied or in the lead for a majority of the game until the midpoint of the fourth quarter when Pittsburgh took a four-point lead that ended up being the final difference. But it’s also worth noting that quarterback Lamar Jackson had four total turnovers including a pick-six in which he threw it directly to the linebacker. Credit the Steelers’ defense for that effort but Jackson had the worst game of his entire career beyond what Pittsburgh did to him, and the Steelers still barely won. Even a single ball bouncing in Baltimore’s favor or just falling to the ground instead of a defender’s hands and Pittsburgh wouldn’t be undefeated right now, much less in January.

I appreciate an analyst going all out on a forecast and having a little fun by being hyperbolic, as we often do here with our bold predictions. But Bradshaw doesn’t seem to be joking around or going to an extreme solely for the reaction. To completely dismiss Baltimore from contention is a pretty big slap in the face to a franchise that swept the Steelers last season and took them to the limit earlier this year.

Pittsburgh still has eight games remaining on the schedule, including today’s tilt against the Cincinnati Bengals, giving plenty of opportunities for Bradshaw’s prediction to go belly-up. And considering just one team in NFL history (since the schedule expanded to 16 games) has won every regular-season game in a season, Bradshaw is so far out on a limb that I can hear the creaking from here.

The Ravens can not only put a massive dent in the Steelers’ lead in the AFC North standings by beating them on Thanksgiving night in Week 12, but they can also make Bradshaw look like a bit of a fool. I doubt Baltimore needed any more reasons to bring their “A” game but Bradshaw’s comments should be found in every player’s locker that night.

Watch: Terry Bradshaw helps stranger with car trouble

Terry Bradshaw came to the aid of a stranger with car trouble.

Terry Bradshaw came to the aid of someone who needed help when his car battery died Wednesday in Texas.

The FOX analyst, four-time Super Bowl champ, and Hall of Famer saw a young man having trouble with his car. What did Bradshaw do? He helped jump the battery to get the car going.

What’s better is the person who received the help had no idea who was aiding him until he went into a store and was told.

“Wonder if that guy knows that he just got jumped off by a super bowl mvp and hall of famer!!” one person commented on the video.

“[H]e did not lol,”Pack ‘N’ Mail employee Cindy Hurt HammerHammer replied. “We told him.”

On Wednesday, he was at a Pack ‘N’ Mail in Gainesville, Texas, when the person parked in the car next to his couldn’t get his car to start.

According to Hammer — who filmed the interaction and posted it online — Bradshaw bought jumper cables from the store and went outside to offer his assistance.

It only took a minute, and when they succeeded and the stranger’s car started up, Bradshaw threw his arms in the air and yelled “touchdown!” before handing the man the jumper cables and going on his way.

“And this is why I’m a true Terry Bradshaw fan!!!!” Hammer captioned the video. “Super humble fella.”

An emotional Terry Bradshaw breaks silence with Ben Roethlisberger

Bradshaw recently had a one-on-one interview with Big Ben.

[jwplayer 1VluAHxZ-ThvAeFxT]

In the 17 seasons that Ben Roethlisberger has been the quarterback of the Pittsburgh Steelers, former Steelers quarterback Terry Bradshaw had not spoken directly with him.

As a longtime football analyst, Bradshaw has said all he needed to about Ben from behind the desk at FOX NFL or through the media. At times, the 4-time Super Bowl champ has been very critical of Roethlisberger.

Recently, Terry had an opportunity to sit down with Big Ben, though virtually, to interview him for the first time.

It was a light-hearted interview that started with Bradshaw asking Ben how he’s feeling. “Old!” Roethlisberger replied.

The two quarterbacks discussed injuries, the current state of the Steelers and Ben’s love of the game.

After the segment ended, Bradshaw became a little emotional when he talked about the interview with his fellow FOX NFL analysts. The former Steelers quarterback admitted he was scared and nervous to talk to Big Ben.

“We have not had a good relationship. We didn’t have any relationship,” said Bradshaw. “Talking to him for a long time has certainly helped me — and him, I believe — come closer together. Where when I see him now in Pittsburgh, we can hug and embrace because we’re two quarterbacks that played for the Steelers.”

“It’s not only good for me; it’s good for him, it’s good for the Steelers organization, the city of Pittsburgh,” Bradshaw added. “It means a lot to me, so I appreciate Ben.”

Terry Bradshaw: Matt Patricia can’t coach, ‘he’s gotta be gone’

Bradshaw did not mince words in slamming Patricia’s style or results

Even with the Detroit Lions on a bye in Week 5, the team still took some hits from the national media. On the FOX pregame show on Sunday morning, Hall of Fame quarterback Terry Bradshaw took a shot at the Lions and head coach Matt Patricia.

Bradshaw did not mince words.

“You can love them, but they have got to show they can coach,” Bradshaw said while symbolically using an actual spoon to stir the pot. “Patricia in Detroit can’t coach.”

Speaking to the panel of fellow FOX analysts, Bradshaw continued,

“Smartest guy in the world. Rocket scientist, engineer. Can’t coach a lick. Can’t hold a lead when they’re leading by 10 points. He’s gotta be gone.”

The discussion continued on the theme of coaches who are very smart but don’t have relationship or personal management skills, a group that also includes Adam Gase and his winless New York Jets.

Michael Strahan ran with that line of thought and brought up Tom Coughlin, who went from being all about discipline and Xs and Os to being a guy who embraced the player-friendly mindset. It won the Giants a Super Bowl. Speaking of Patricia and Gase, Strahan offered this,

“I think they’ve just been X’s and O’s guys. You have to have relationships if you want to win.“
