NFL WR Terrelle Pryor in critical condition after stabbing

Terrelle Pryor, the former Ohio State star and longtime NFL quarterback and receiver, was stabbed overnight and is in critical condition.

NFL free agent Terrelle Pryor, who has played quarterback and receiver for the Raiders, Browns, Redskins, Bills, and Jets in a career that started in 2011, is in critical condition after a stabbing overnight at the Heinz Lofts apartment complex in Pittsburgh, per WTAE Action News.

An unidentified woman is now in custody following the incident.

Pryor, who was released by the Jaguars earlier this season, was reportedly stabbed in the shoulder and chest, and underwent surgery. According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Pryor is expected to survive the stabbing. and several family members are by his side post-surgery.

Pryor is best-known for his time at Ohio State, where he threw for 57 touchdowns and 26 interceptions, adding 17 rushing touchdowns from 2008 through 2010. His best NFL season came in 2016, when he caught 77 passes on 140 targets for 1,007 yards and four touchdowns.

Former Washington Redskins wide receiver Terrelle Pryor is reportedly in critical condition after being stabbed multiple times in the chest and the shoulder on Friday night near his Pittsburgh apartment.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the incident took place at the Heinz Lofts apartment complex in Pittsburgh.

An unidentified woman is in police custody, according to the report.

Pryor was a player in the NFL for seven seasons, and he most recently was a member of the New York Jets in 2018. He was drafted by the Cleveland Browns as a QB in 2015, but he excelled as a receiver in his second season, racking up over 1,000 yards receiving and four touchdowns.

The Redskins signed Pryor to a one-year, $8 million deal in 2017, but he only played in nine games and caught one touchdown pass in Washington.

Terrelle Pryor has not had a good go of things since his ill-fated decision to leave Cleveland after the 2016 season. Now the unemployed wideout is hoping his hometown Pittsburgh Steelers will throw the ex-Dawg a bone.

Pryor, who has been out of the league since the Buffalo Bills cut him a year ago this week, isn’t too proud to beg for another chance. He posted on his Instagram feed a shameless plea to Steelers GM Kevin Colbert to sign him.

The Steelers do have some serious injury and depth issues at the position. And Pryor did catch 77 passes for 1,007 yards in his shining season with the Browns only three years ago. Maybe Pryor might be onto something…
