Josh Heupel details Vols’ walkthrough ahead of Tennessee Tech game

Josh Heupel details Vols’ walkthrough ahead of Tennessee Tech game.

Tennessee (1-1) will host Tennessee Tech (0-2) Saturday at Neyland Stadium.

The Vols enter its in-state matchup following a Week 2 loss to Pittsburgh.

First-year head coach Josh Heupel met with media on Thursday and discussed the Vols’ walkthrough ahead of playing Tennessee Tech.

“Good Thursday walkthrough for us, energy and engagement was really good,” Heupel said. “I know you guys will have questions on injuries. A lot of that is going to be determined tomorrow and potentially on Saturday morning. The majority of it tomorrow, based on how we get on the grass, how guys are moving around and functioning. Excited to go play, the guys are too.

“Like I said earlier in the week, the challenge is us. Big emphasis today for our players, the challenge of the last 48 hours is the process to get ready to go play. They’ve been good Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. I like what they’ve done. They were good this morning, but later today and tomorrow is going to be important too. We’re learning how to do those things right as a program, coaches and players alike.”
