Tennessee Titans home betting favorites vs. Chicago Bears in Week 9

The Tennessee Titans are the betting favorites in their Week 9 home game with the Chicago Bears.

The Tennessee Titans (5-2) host the Chicago Bears (5-3) in their Week 9 matchup Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.  Below, we look at the early betting odds and lines at BetMGM Sportsbook.

The Bears had their 10-point, fourth-quarter comeback spoiled by the New Orleans Saints in a 26-23 overtime loss in Week 8. QB Nick Foles guided Chicago into field-goal territory where PK Cairo Santos hit a 51-yard field goal to tie the game with 13 seconds left in regulation. Both teams traded possessions in overtime, but Saints’ K Wil Lutz made a 35-year field goal to win the game.

Chicago’s betting records

  • Against the spread: 5-3 ATS
  • Over/Under: 3-5 O/U

After starting the season 5-0, the Titans lost its second straight game, this time to the Cincinnati Bengals 31-20 in Week 8. Tennessee’s defense couldn’t get the Bengals off the field—Cincinnati converted 10-of-15 third downs and held onto the ball for 35:57. Also, Titans QB Ryan Tannehill was held in check: 18-30 for 233 passing yards with one touchdown and one interception.

Tennessee’s betting records

  • Against the spread: 2-5 ATS
  • Over/Under: 5-1-1 O/U

Titans at Bengals: Odds, prediction, betting lines and picks

Prediction

Titans 34, Bengals 30

Money line (?)

The Bengals are going to get a surprise win at some point, but have lost three in a row and the Titans are coming off a close loss to the unbeaten Pittsburgh Steelers. The Titans will bounce back.

The Bengals have one of the worst rush defenses in the league, which should play into the Titans’ strength of running the ball well. Simply put, a 5-1 team should beat a 1-5-1 team. Take the TITANS (-304), although there is a healthy amount of chalk to this selection.

Against the spread (?)

This is where things get interesting. Despite being only 1-5-1 in terms of straight-up wins and losses, the Bengals are tied for the second-best record in the league against the spread. They are 5-2 ATS. Burrow puts up big numbers and keeps his team in games. Tennessee, meanwhile, is only 2-4 ATS. Your best bet is to take the BENGALS +7 (-110).

Over/Under (?)

Both teams can score points. Tennessee’s games have gone Over in four of six. Cincinnati’s have gone Over in four of seven. Look for a lot of offense in this one. Take the OVER 51.5.

Alabama at Tennessee odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Saturday’s Alabama Crimson Tide at Tennessee Volunteers sports betting odds and lines, with college football betting picks, tips and predictions.

The Alabama Crimson Tide (4-0) and Tennessee Volunteers (2-2) clash in an SEC matchup Saturday at Neyland Stadium at 3:30 p.m. E.T. We analyze the Alabama-Tennessee college football betting odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

Alabama at Tennessee: Betting odds and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Friday at 2:35 p.m. ET.

  • Money line: Alabama -1250 (bet $1,250, win $100) | Tennessee +725 (bet $100, win $725)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Alabama -21.5 (-106) | Tennessee +21.5 (-115)
  • Over/Under: 65.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Alabama at Tennesee: Three things to know

  1. Alabama currently has the No. 2 scoring offense in all of college football, averaging just under 49 points per game. The Crimson Tide are leading the nation in yards per play at 8.26.
  2. Tennessee has won eight of its last 10 games. The Volunteers’ only losses have come against Kentucky and Georgia in back-to-back weeks.
  3. Alabama has won 10 straight games against Tennessee, averaging 40.7 points per game in those meetings. The Volunteers have really struggled to score points against the Crimson Tide, averaging only 12.4 points per game in those 10 meetings.

Alabama at Tennessee: Odds, prediction, betting lines and picks

Prediction

Alabama 48, Tennessee 21

Money line (ML)

Alabama is a three-touchdown favorite over Tennessee but there just isn’t a lot of value on either side in this matchup. Alabama is arguably the best team in all of college football, and it would be a shock if the Tide lost this game.

The odds just aren’t good enough to put any money down on the money line. PASS on this line in favor of the point spread.

Against the spread (ATS)

ALABAMA -21.5 (-106) is a huge favorite over Tennessee and frankly, it’s still not enough points to consider taking the Volunteers. Alabama’s offense can score at will and the Tide don’t mind pouring on the points at the end of games. With their deep passing attack, points can come in a hurry and that’s what makes them such a difficult team to pick against.

Take the Crimson Tide here, considering they have covered the spread in 10 of their last 14 meetings against the Volunteers.

Over/Under (O/U)

The total for this SEC matchup is set at 65.5 points, yet that somehow doesn’t feel like quite enough. Alabama has scored 38, 52, 63 and 41 points this season and it feels like the offense is just starting to come together. If Tennesee can reach 20 or so points, that should allow the OVER 65.5 (-110) to hit as Alabama should score into the upper 40s with ease.

Steelers at Titans game notes

  • The Steelers are 6-4 in their last 10 games against the Titans, but have only covered the spread in four of those 10 games.
  • This season, the Steelers are 4-1 ATS, while the Titans are only 2-3 ATS. The total has gone Over in three of the Steelers’ five games and in four of Tennessee’s first five.
  • The Titans and Steelers both rank in the top four in scoring this season, with Tennessee being second and Pittsburgh fourth.
  • Defensively, the Steelers have allowed the third-fewest points per game and the second-fewest rushing yards. The Titans have the fourth-most rushing yards in the NFL this season.
  • The Steelers are 6-1 in their last seven games against the AFC South and 10-1 in their last 11 October games.

  • CB Mike Hilton (shoulder) questionable
  • WR Diontae Johnson (back) probable

  • OT Isaiah Wilson (illness) questionable

Steelers at Titans: Odds, prediction, betting lines and picks

Prediction

Steelers 30, Titans 27

Money line (?)

Neither team is getting plus-money on the money line, which shows just how close this game is expected to be. However, I like the Steelers against a Titans team that has three close wins against bad teams. The Steelers look like a much more complete team thus far with a defense that is built to stop Tennessee’s ground game. The Steelers will slow down RB Derrick Henry and pressure QB Ryan Tannehill into some mistakes. Take the STEELERS (+100).

Against the spread (?)

The STEELERS (+1.5) are getting points likely because of the fact that they’re the road team. It’s not much, but even 1.5 points helps in the event that this comes down to one point just as the Titans did in Week 3 with a 31-31 victory at the Minnesota Vikings.

Take the STEELERS +1.5 (-115) to cover the spread.

Over/Under (?)

The Over/Under is set at 50.5. The Steelers and Titans combine to average about 64 points per game. As two of the highest-scoring teams in the league, this game is bound to go Over, even with the Steelers defense playing as well as it has been.

Take OVER 50.5 (-110) on Sunday and watch the scoreboard light up.
