Nebraska Countdown to Kickoff – No. 65 Teddy Prochazka

Only 65 days remain until the beginning of Nebraska’s 2024 season.

As the month of June slowly comes to a close, the countdown to kickoff until the beginning of the Nebraska Cornhuskers’ 2024 season against the UTEP Miners sits at just 65 days.

In the player spotlight with 65 days remaining is Huskers redshirt junior offensive lineman Teddy Prochazka.

A member of the Huskers 2021 recruiting class, Prochazka was ranked a four-star prospect by Rivals as well as being considered a top-100 prospect by the recruiting service.

So far in his career, the former four-star prospect has struggled with his health, suffering season-ending injuries in each of his first two seasons.

In 2023, the Elkhorn, Nebraska native was finally healthy and played in 10 games and making six starts including the Huskers’ final five games of the season at left tackle. In his time on the field, he was impressive and showed that he could play up to the hype that comes with being a top-100 prospect out of high school.

In 2024, the former Elkhorn standout is projected to be the program’s starting left tackle. If he can stay healthy, he’ll have the opportunity to be one of the Big Ten’s top tackles.

Nebraska OT to miss the rest of the season

A Nebraska Cornhuskers OT will miss the remainder of the season.

On September 17, the Nebraska Cornhuskers suffered a 14-49 blowout to the Oklahoma Sooners.

Unfortunately, interim head coach Mickey Joseph delivered some more disappointing news following the loss. According to Brian Christopherson of 247 Sports, Joseph announced that offensive tackle Teddy Prochazka will miss the remainder of the season.

Prochazka suffered an injury last week against Georgia Southern. This is brutal news for Prochazka, who appeared in five games for the Cornhuskers last season before tearing his ACL against Michigan.

In 2022, he served as the team’s starting left tackle. He is still only 21 years old, and he will receive a redshirt for this season.
