New Panthers quarterback Teddy Bridgewater just wrapped up a video conference call with several members of the media. Bridgewater shared some interesting things about what he’s been up to since signing with his new team and how he’s been passing the time while practicing social distancing.
Obviously, behaving responsibly during coronavirus has made it difficult for Bridgewater to get more familiar his teammates. So, he’s making do by playing with them in Madden. No, seriously. According to Jourdan Rodrigue at the Athletic, Bridgewater says playing the game has helped him get a better feel for some of the guys on the roster.

While Carolina still has a lot of roster holes to fill, Bridgewater won’t be able to complain about a lack of weapons.
To recap, he’ll have the best pass-catching running back in the NFL in Christian McCaffrey (assuming he doesn’t get traded). He has a young, promising tight end with Ian Thomas. Bridgewater will also benefit from a loaded wide receiver corps that now includes Robby Anderson, Keith Kirkwood, Seth Roberts and Pharoh Cooper in addition to D.J. Moore and Curtis Samuel.
Best of all, Bridgewater gets to play for an innovative offensive coordinator who he has previous experience with. Aside from pass protection, the relationship between him and Joe Brady may be the most important factor in determining how well Carolina’s offense does this year.
