A former Husker quarterback has been named to the Nebraska Football Hall of Fame. Taylor Martinez had a record-setting career for the Cornhuskers from 2009-2013.

During that time, he would throw for 7,258 yards with 56 touchdowns and 29 interceptions. He would run for 2,975 yards and 31 touchdowns.

As a freshman, Martinez would win the Big 12 Offensive Freshman of the Year award and was also a First-team All-Big Ten selection as a junior.

An injury during his senior season prevented him from playing significant snaps. He would sign with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2014 as an undrafted rookie free agent.

Reports had stated that Martinez would be converted into a wide receiver or cornerback. However, he would fail his physical and would see his contract voided days later.
