[autotag]Tasturo Taira[/autotag] added a former UFC title challenger to his resume, but perhaps not the way he wanted.
In his most recent outing, the Japanese prospect picked up a TKO victory over longtime contender Alex Perez in June. It was a very fight that only lasted about a round and a half. Taira got Perez’s back while standing and did a maneuver that badly injured Perez’s knee. Taira got his hand raised, maintained his unbeaten record and won a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus.

Taira (16-0 MMA, 6-0 UFC) returns to the octagon this Saturday in the main event of UFC Fight Night 244 in Las Vegas. He takes on former UFC title challenger Brandon Royval (16-7 MMA, 6-3 UFC) in a flyweight contest.
