Five Longhorns are selected in CBS Sports’ latest NFL mock draft

Ryan Wilson of CBSSports projects five Texas Longhorns drafted in his latest 7-round mock draft.

Finally, we’re one week away from the 2021 NFL draft. Eight players will be representing Texas throughout the three day event, but a few may become undrafted rookie free agents.

Joseph Ossai and Samuel Cosmi appear to be consensus locks to be taken in the first or second round of the draft. However, it gets a bit uncertain for the Texas prospects behind them.

In Ryan Wilson’s latest seven-round mock draft for CBS Sports, he predicts five Longhorns to be drafted. Here are his predictions for where each player will be taken off of the board:

Samuel Cosmi, Offensive Tackle: 2nd Round, 38th Overall, Cincinnati Bengals

Joseph Ossai, EDGE: 2nd Round, 54th Overall, Indianapolis Colts

Caden Sterns, Safety: 6th Round, 206th Overall, Indianapolis Colts

Ta’Quon Graham, Defensive Tackle: 7th Round, 242nd Overall, New England Patriots

Sam Ehlinger, Quarterback: 7th Round, 243rd Overall, Arizona Cardinals

We’ll have to wait one more week to see where any of these Texas players would be taken, but if five Texas players were to be drafted, it would be the most taken in a single draft by the school since the 2015 NFL draft which also had five players selected.
