Season series: Spurs lead 2-0.

Suns at Spurs picks and predictions

Prediction

Suns 119, Spurs 108

Moneyline

The Suns have hit 41 three-pointers in their last 2 games. They are 18-15 on the road this season while the Spurs are only 8-26. And the Suns will want to avenge their 2 home losses to the Spurs from earlier this season.

The Spurs have only 15 wins all season and only 7 on the road. Two were in Phoenix.

San Antonio has just 5 wins in its last 24 games. They are 7-34 against teams with winning records.

Betting the Spurs has a big payout if they win, but you can’t reasonably count on that, while betting the Suns just isn’t profitable enough in this game.

PASS.

Against the spread

The Suns are 28-40-2 ATS overall this season while the Spurs are 35-35 ATS.

The Suns’ last 3 wins and 4 of the last 6 have been by at least 10 points.

Ten of the Spurs’ last 16 losses have been by double digits.

BET SUNS -9.5 (-115).

Over/Under

The totals in the 2 previous meetings this season (Oct. 31 and Nov. 2) were 229 and 253.

The Spurs have only had 1 of their last 6 games surpass 230 total points.

The Suns have had 2 of their last 3 games surpass 230 total points but 5 of their last 7 did not.

The Spurs have allowed only 1 opponent to score at least 120 points in their last 12 games.

BET UNDER 230.5 (-105).

Phoenix Suns at San Antonio Spurs odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s Phoenix Suns at San Antonio Spurs odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Phoenix Suns (33-9) travel to AT&T Center Monday to take on the San Antonio Spurs (16-27). Tip-off is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Suns vs. Spurs odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Spurs are far better than their record indicates. They rank 16th in net rating (minus-0.3) yet their record would suggest they’re a bottom-eight team. San Antonio is 23-20 against the spread (ATS) this season due to its depth and talent and it’s better at home as well with an 8-12 record at AT&T Center.

The Suns are among the few teams in the top 10 of both offensive and defensive rating and are actually the lone team in the top six in both. The suns have the best record in the NBA, and at 23-19 ATS are among the 13 teams that cover at over a 50% rate.

Suns at Spurs odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Suns 112, Spurs 110

Money line

PASS on the money line. I’d rather take the Spurs plus the points here, especially considering the Suns are 16-4 on the road.

Against the spread

BET to the SPURS +4.5 (-110).

The Spurs match up well with most teams given their depth and size.

They’ve yet to get over the hump because they don’t have that high-profile, Devin Booker-like star, but they match up well with Phoenix. The Suns force turnovers at the eighth-highest rate.

The Spurs rank fourth in turnover rate, so they don’t turn the ball over much. Also, the Suns are the sixth-most efficient team from the free-throw line, and the Spurs rank in the top ten in opponents’ free-throw rate.

Overall, I’d give a few slight, important edges to San Antonio. We’re seeing reverse-line movement as the Suns getting more of the money, per pregame.com, yet the line has actually gone down from the -5 opener.

Over/Under

“LEAN” to the UNDER 226.5 (-108).

The Spurs like to get out in transition and run, ranking fourth in pace, but the Suns have the length and defensive aptitude to slow them down. Phoenix has the second-ranked defense in the NBA.

Both teams are 5-5 O/U in their last 10.

I’d just do a small unit on UNDER 226.5 (-108) with the preferred bet of the Spurs plus the points.

Phoenix Suns at San Antonio Spurs odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s Phoenix Suns at San Antonio Spurs odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Phoenix Suns (13-3) travel to AT&T Center Monday to take on the San Antonio Spurs (4-11). Tip-off is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Suns at Spurs odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

Coming in with a record that only falls short in comparison to the Western Conference-leading Golden State Warriors, the Suns have won 12 in a row following a shaky 1-3 start.

The hangover from making the Finals is not real as Devin Booker and the Suns couldn’t look better. They’re 11-3 in conference play and 5-1 on the road. Phoenix is 9-7 against the spread (ATS) and 6-10 Over/Under (O/U).

As for the Spurs, they’ve been far worse than many expected. While G Dejounte Murray has progressed into a full-blown star, the help from Keldon Johnson and Derrick White among others hasn’t been there consistently.

At home, the Spurs are just 2-4, one of five teams in the West with a sub-.500 home record. That said, the Spurs are 7-8 ATS and 6-8-1 (O/U).

Suns at Spurs odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Suns 113, Spurs 104

Money line

PASS on the money line.

While I do like Phoenix to win on the road against a disappointing Spurs team, the -220 is too steep. This number really wouldn’t be playable unless it dropped to under -180.

On the other hand, given the Suns are on a 12-game win streak and the Spurs look like they don’t want to win another game, I’d stay away from the +175 as well.

Against the spread

BET on the SUNS -5.5 (-107) as the best bet in this game. The Suns are ultra-hot right now, and they’re at full strength as well which makes the case even better.

Phoenix has won nine of its last 12 by more than five points, and it’s currently riding a three-game streak of wins by more than five.

The Suns also rank second in field goal percentage. San Antonio is 25th in defensive effective field goal rate. The Suns should have a heyday with the Spurs’ defense.

Combine that with the solid premier defending of Paul, Bridges and Crowder, and it should be tough for San Antonio to score. The Suns have the third-best defensive rating to the Spurs’ 24th-best offensive rating.

Over/Under

“LEAN” to the UNDER 221.5 (-115) because I don’t trust the Spurs playmaking against Deandre Ayton, Mikal Bridges and Jae Crowder. As noted, the Spurs have the 25th-best offensive rating.

San Antonio has scored less than 95 points in two straight games and in three of its past six. This isn’t an elite scoring or shooting team, which is one reason why the Spurs have struggled to win games.

Likewise, the Suns are averaging the fourth-best points per game. If the Over hits, Phoenix has to top its average and get a much better than expected performance from San Antonio, which seems unlikely.

With that in mind, I’d lean towards the Under.

Phoenix Suns at San Antonio Spurs odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Saturday’s Phoenix Suns at San Antonio Spurs NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The Phoenix Suns (49-21) play the first half of a two-game set to wrap up the regular season against the San Antonio Spurs (33-37) Saturday at AT&T Center. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze the Suns vs. Spurs odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

The Suns can still lock up the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference, but they need to win Saturday and Sunday against the Spurs, while hoping the Utah Jazz are dumped by the Sacramento Kings Sunday.

Phoenix won just two of its past five outings, while going 1-4 against the spread during the span. The Over cashed in seven of the past eight games for the Suns.

The Spurs backed into a play-in spot and will face the Los Angeles Lakers on the road in the 7-10 game. The other three play-in teams have won three or more games in a row, and are running hot. The Spurs are ice cold.

San Antonio is just 2-8 straight up while going 5-4-1 ATS across its past 10 outings. The Spurs spanked the Suns in Phoenix by a 111-85 count April 17 as 12.5-point underdogs in the first meeting this season.

Suns at Spurs: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Suns 115, Spurs 99

Money line (ML)

The Suns (-625) will cost you more than six times your potential return, and that’s risky business on the road, even if they have a lot to play for.

The Spurs roughed up the Suns in their first meeting, and while they’re ice-cold lately, it certainly makes Phoenix less attractive.

AVOID.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

The SUNS -10.5 (-110) are heavy favorites on the road. The Spurs are catching double digits at home, and that’s quite a bit of wiggle room; however, their leading scorer and assist man in DeRozan is resting, as well as their top rebounder in Poeltl. It screams stay away.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 222.5 (-110) is the play, as the Spurs will have at least two of their key components resting, and Gay could also rest his heel with the back-to-back situation. The Under cashed in eight of the past 10 head-to-head meetings in San Antonio, and another looks like a good bet.
