The Seattle Storm (20-13) and New York Liberty (27-6) meet Thursday at Barclays Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (Prime Video). Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Storm vs. Liberty odds, and make our expert WNBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Liberty lead 2-0

The Storm picked up a 71-64 victory at the Connecticut Sun as a 3.5-point underdog Tuesday as the Under (159) cashed, exacting revenge after a 93-86 loss in the front end of the back-to-back set at Mohegan Sun Arena. The 64 points were their fewest allowed in a road game this season.

These teams just met Aug. 30 in the Pacific Northwest, with the Liberty picking up a 98-85 win as a 4-point favorite as the Over (163) cashed. New York shot 50.7% (34-of-67) from the field, and 46.2% (12-of-26) from behind the 3-point line, while cashing in at a 90.0% (18-of-20) clip at the free-throw line.

Breanna Stewart went off against the Storm in that win, going for 32 points on 10-of-16 shooting, and 3-of-4 from downtown, while adding 6 assists and 5 rebounds. Sabrina Ionescu had 25 points, 8 assists and 8 assists with 3 triples.

On the flip side, while Seattle turned it over just 5 times, to 16 turnovers for New York, it managed a dismal 17 rebounds, while the Liberty gathered 45 boards, including 17 at the offensive end. The Storm was just 21.7% (5-of-23) from behind the arc, too.

Storm at Liberty picks and predictions

Prediction

Liberty 91, Storm 82

Moneyline

Playing New York (-340) will cost you nearly 3 1/2 times your potential return, and that’s way too risky for not enough return. Even as part of a multi-part parlay, there is no sense including the Liberty, as they suck all out of the value out of your ticket.

Playing such heavy favorites is not a recommended long-term betting strategy.

AVOID.

Against the spread

Taking NEW YORK -7.5 (-110) at home is worth a look, but don’t get carried away. The Liberty aren’t likely to shoot over 50% from the field like they did in the most recent meeting with the Storm.

In addition, Seattle +7.5 (-110) isn’t likely to get outrebounded by a difference of 28 boards. We should have a little bit of a closer game, but still back the home side to get it done by nearly double digits.

Over/Under

OVER 165 (-110) is a strong play in this rematch from Aug. 30.

The Storm and Liberty combined by 183 points in that one, with a total of just 163. The Over is 3-1 in the past 4 outings for Seattle, while the total has gone high in 5 of the past 9 road contests.

For New York, after 5 straight Under results from Aug. 17-26, the Over has cashed in the past 2 games for the Lib, averaging 93.0 points per game, while allowing 89.5 PPG in the 2-game span.
