What the general population thought of the Chargers’ Week 11 win over the Steelers.

In a wild game that consisted of the Chargers almost blowing a 14 point lead, Los Angeles now sits at 6-4 after beating the Steelers by the score of 41-37.

Following the close game on Sunday Night Football, here’s a look at how the general population reacted on social media:

Everything we know about Chargers’ 41-37 victory over Steelers

Highlighting everything notable from the Los Angeles Chargers’ win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

What a wild ride.

What appeared to be a game in favor of the Chargers turned into a primetime thriller in the fourth quarter after the Steelers scored three consecutive touchdowns, which was ensued by a special teams meltdown.

Los Angeles ultimately prevailed after a 53-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Mike Williams in the game’s final three minutes.

To recap Week 11, here is everything we know:

It was over when…

Quarterback Justin Herbert found a wide-open Williams after a busted coverage.

Notable numbers…

– 7-of-12 on third down

– 533 total yards of offense

– 159 yards rushing

– 3.1 yards rushing allowed

– 12 committed penalties

Stars of the game

QB Justin Herbert: 382 yards passing, 90 yards rushing, and three touchdowns.

RB Austin Ekeler: 115 yards from scrimmage and four total touchdowns

WR Keenan Allen: 9 catches for 112 yards

WR Mike Williams: 5 receptions for 97 yards and one TD

Quick takes

– After an uneven performance against the Vikings, Herbert shined in primetime yet again. He benefited from getting out of the pocket, the designed RPOs, and the simplified reads. Not only did we get to see his arm talent on display, but his athleticism when he scrambled.

– While a lot of stuff underneath, Herbert was crisp when he pushed the ball downfield, completing 7-of-11 attempts for 162 yards and one touchdown on throws over 10 yards, per Pro Football Focus.

– The Steelers struggled mightily against running backs coming into the contest. The Chargers did a good job of featuring Ekeler to exploit the weakness by getting him going early and often not only on the ground but also as a pass-catcher in space.

– Los Angeles took advantage of a belittled Pittsburgh secondary. Allen and Williams got plenty of open opportunities and turned it into a combined 19 targets for over 200 receiving yards.

– Positive results happen when they run to the left side, as Rashawn Slater and Matt Feiler paved the way.

– Dropped passes continue to hurt. I counted five or six on the night. Two of Herbert’s three big-time throws were dropped, according to PFF.

– Even without Linval Joseph, Christian Covington, and Jerry Tillery, the interior part of the defensive line played with grit and energy. Justin Jones, Breiden Fehoko, Forrest Merrill, and Joe Gaziano limited the Steelers’ rushing attack to 3.1 yards per carry.

– After returning to the field, Michael Davis showed some rust in coverage.

– Asante Samuel Jr. allowed a big reception in coverage against Chase Claypool early on, but he countered with great play the rest of the way out before suffering his second concussion of the season.

– Tevaughn Campbell struggled for the second straight week when he entered the game in place of Samuel.

– The pass rush steadily got to quarterback Ben Roethlisberger but turned it on when it was much-needed. The group finished with three sacks, with Joey Bosa and Kyler Fackrell getting theirs on the final defensive stand.

– The special teams coverage units still have plenty of work to do. The Chargers allowed an average of 31.5 yards per kick return, and their lone punt was blocked, which led to the momentum switch.

– Penalties must be minimized.

What’s next?

The Chargers are on the road to take on the Broncos in a divisional bout next Sunday, Nov. 28 at 1:05 pm PT.

Ravens vs. Steelers: Live blog and instant analysis

Up to the minute scores and instant analysis of each scoring drive between the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 17

It’s the final week of the 2019 NFL regular season and the Baltimore Ravens are playing host to the Pittsburgh Steelers. It’s the second of two matchups this season, with Baltimore winning the last one back in Week 5 in a 26-23 overtime clincher.

This week doesn’t mean much to the Ravens, having clinched the No. 1 seed in the AFC with last week’s win over the Cleveland Browns. But for the Steelers, they absolutely need to win this week to even have a shot at making the postseason. However, with Baltimore resting several starters and Pittsburgh dealing with injuries, this one could very well look more like a preseason matchup rather than one with playoff implications.

Still, the Ravens and Steelers are always good football and we should expect more of that today. If you can’t keep up with the action live, we’ll be posting the up-to-date score and instant analysis of each scoring drive to help you out.

First quarter:

Ravens 0 – Steelers 0

AFC North standings: Another team out after Week 13

The Baltimore Ravens continue their dominance over the AFC North standings as the Cleveland Browns lose and drop out of contention.

With their Week 13 win over the San Francisco 49ers, the Baltimore Ravens have continued their winning streak to eight-straight games. This late in the season, Baltimore’s win streak is actually more total wins than any team in the AFC North have. Which speaks volumes towards the AFC North standings after Week 13.

The Ravens sit at the top of the division and with their loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers this week, the Cleveland Browns have officially been eliminated from contention in the AFC North. With just four weeks remaining, the Browns can only reach a 9-7 record while Baltimore already has 10 wins.

The Steelers have won six of their last seven games after starting off the season 1-4. In spite of being onto their third quarterback of the season, Pittsburgh’s defense has kept them in almost every game this season. While there’s still question on how effective they can be against the top teams in the league given their relatively easy schedule in recent weeks.

And finally, the Cincinnati Bengals picked up their very first win of the season. So at the very least, they’ve made sure they won’t go down in history as one of the few 0-16 teams. But with so few games remaining, they still hold a one-game lead for the worst record in the NFL and the first-overall pick in the 2020 draft.

Take a look at the AFC North standings after Week 13.

AFC North standings:

Team Record Division Record Conference Record
Baltimore Ravens 10-2 3-1 6-2
Pittsburgh Steelers 7-5 3-2 6-3
Cleveland Browns 5-7 2-1 5-4
Cincinnati Bengals 1-11 0-4 1-7

If Baltimore wins and Pittsburgh loses in Week 14, the Ravens will clinch the AFC North.

AFC North standings: Ravens resting easy at top after Week 11

The Ravens are miles ahead of everyone else in the AFC North standings after a Week 11 win and the debacle between the Steelers and Browns.

The Baltimore Ravens once again handled their business, defeating the Houston Texans in Week 11 handily. Though they were already at the top of the AFC North standings, the week wasn’t nearly as fun for the rest of the division.

It kicked off on Thursday night as the Cleveland Browns beat the Pittsburgh Steelers in a game marred by an ugly brawl at the end. Impact players from both teams are now suspended. Pittsburgh’s loss was already a huge deal, extending Baltimore’s lead in the AFC North standings. But with starters now missing time due to the fight, it’s going to make the next few weeks even tougher for both the Browns and Steelers, potentially putting them further in the hole.

The Bengals are officially out the running for the playoffs, losing to the Oakland Raiders to fall to 0-10.

Let’s take a look at the AFC North standings after Week 11.

AFC North standings:

Team Record Division Record Conference Record
Baltimore Ravens 8-2 3-1 6-2
Pittsburgh Steelers 5-5 1-2 4-3
Cleveland Browns 4-6 2-0 4-3
Cincinnati Bengals 0-10 0-3 0-6

The Ravens now hold a three-game lead over the Steelers for the top of the AFC North standings, a lead that is effectively 3.5 games thanks to a head-to-head tiebreaker. With just six games remaining, it would take a complete collapse by Baltimore to not hold the AFC North crown by Week 17.

The Ravens can clinch the division in Week 13 if the following things happen:

AFC North Week 11 preview: Big AFC North battle behind Ravens

The Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Cleveland Browns on Thursday Night Football is the game to watch as it sets up second place behind the Ravens.

The Baltimore Ravens ride high atop the AFC North standings, maintaining their lead in Week 10 by beating the Cincinnati Bengals.

All four teams inside the AFC North have had their bye weeks, meaning we’ll get a chance to see football from the entire division for the final seven weeks of the season.

With a tough schedule ahead for Baltimore, the coming weeks are an opportunity for the Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers to make up some ground on the Ravens. It’ll start this week as those two square off in the national spotlight.

First up on Week 11’s schedule is an AFC North rivalry on Thursday night. It’s the first time the Steelers and Browns have met and only the second division game Cleveland has played this season.

Pittsburgh has been heating up after their trade for safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, putting together solid defensive performances en route to a four-game winning streak. The Steelers have come alive in spite of an offense that has been downright dreadful, ranking 28th in yards and 19th in points scored.

The Browns would love nothing more than to beat their division rival and put themselves back in the hunt for a playoff spot in front of a national audience. With a fairly easy remaining schedule, Cleveland could very well get to 9-7 and put themselves in the running for a wild-card berth. A loss here would all but eliminate them from contention.

This is a pivotal game for the division behind Baltimore and one worth watching.

AFC North standings: Ravens sweep Bengals with Week 10 win

The Baltimore Ravens sweep the Cincinnati Bengals to keep their lofty lead in the AFC North standings through Week 10.

The Baltimore Ravens handled their business and beat the still-winless Cincinnati Bengals 49-13. It’s Baltimore’s first sweep of Cincinnati since the 2011 season and it marks another big win within the AFC North standings for the Ravens.

Baltimore will now finish no worse than 3-3 within the division, an important step to winning the AFC North. With a final game against the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns left on the schedule, the Ravens appear to have an insurmountable lead over the division at this stage.

Behind Baltimore is Pittsburgh, with their Week 10 win over the Los Angeles Rams. While they’re surging themselves, owning a four-game winning streak now, they still sit firmly behind the Ravens.

The Browns picked up a big win of their own, defeating the Buffalo Bills in the final minutes of the game to get their third win of the season. Though they remain well behind the Ravens within the division standings, there’s still plenty of season left to completely count them out.

The Bengals, on the other hand, are done. Having moved to 0-9, they’re now guaranteed to have a losing season. Though the AFC North isn’t exactly the toughest division in the league this year, it seems almost certain that a winning record is going to be needed to sit at the top of it. And with the playoffs firmly out of reach, Cincinnati has clearly moved into figuring out what talent they have on their roster and perhaps if rookie coach Zac Taylor will return in 2020.

Let’s take a look at the AFC North standings after Week 10.

AFC North standings:

Team Record Division Record Conference Record
Baltimore Ravens 7-2 3-1 5-2
Pittsburgh Steelers 5-4 1-1 4-2
Cleveland Browns 3-6 1-0 3-3
Cincinnati Bengals 0-9 0-3 0-5

The Ravens effectively hold a three-game lead over the Steelers in the AFC North standings after Week 10, thanks to their current head-to-head and division-record tiebreakers. Their Week 17 game looms in the horizon if Baltimore were to lose half of their next six games.
