The St. Louis Blues and Colorado Avalanche meet for Game 5 of Western Conference Semifinals Wednesday at Ball Arena in Denver. Colorado leads the series 3-1. Puck drop is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET (TNT). Below, we look at the Blues vs. Avalanche Game 5 odds and lines, and make our expert NHL picks, predictions and bets.

The Blues nearly pulled off the upset in Game 1 before losing in overtime at Ball Arena and then picked up the road win in Game 2. If St. Louis wants to extend its season, it needs to win Wednesday, and then the next 2 games.

The Avalanche came alive in 2 road games in St. Louis, outscoring the Blues by an 11-5 margin to push the Blues to the brink of elimination. Colorado tries for its first trip to the Conference Finals since 2002.

Blues at Avalanche odds and lines

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated at 7:31 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Blues +190 (bet $100 to win $190) | Avalanche -240 (bet $240 to win $100)
  • Against the spread (ATS): Blues +1.5 (-122) | Avalanche -1.5 (-102)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 6.5 (O: -108 | U: -112)

Blues at Avalanche projected goalies

Ville Husso (1-4-0, 3.76 GAA, .884 SV%, 1 SO – postseason) vs. Darcy Kuemper (5-1-0, 2.14 GAA, .917 SV% – postseason)

Husso took over for the injured Jordan Binnington in Game 3, but was unable to stop Colorado from scoring an avalanche of goals. He coughed up 4 goals on 23 shots in relief in Game 3, and 5 more goals on 36 shots in Game 4.

Kuemper has allowed 3 or fewer goals in each of his 7 starts during the postseason. He allowed 3 goals on just 20 shots in Game 4, but the offense picked him up and provided more than enough support.

Blues at Avalanche picks and predictions

Prediction

Avalanche 4, Blues 3

Money line

The Avalanche (-240) will get this one done, sending the Blues (+190) to the golf course. However, you can’t risk nearly two and a half times your potential return, and this is going to be a close game. St. Louis certainly won’t get quietly into the night.

PASS.

Against the spread

The BLUES +1.5 (-122) are worth a small-unit play in this elimination game. St. Louis has the offensive weapons to make a run at it in Denver, but it will come up just short. It wouldn’t be surprising to see overtime decide this one, and if so, the Blues on the puck line would be a winner.

Over/Under

OVER 6.5 (-108) is also worth a small-unit play, but be careful. We might get off to a slow start, especially as the Blues have the nerves of an elimination game. St. Louis won’t want to make any mistakes, and Colorado won’t want to do anything silly to let the Blues hang around. However, as the game goes on, we’ll see the offense pick up late.

Colorado Avalanche at St. Louis Blues Game 4 odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s Colorado Avalanche at St. Louis Blues Game 4 odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Colorado Avalanche and St. Louis Blues meet for Game 4 of Western Conference Semifinals Monday at Enterprise Center in St. Louis. Colorado leads the series 2-1. Puck drop is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. ET (TNT). Below, we look at the Avalanche vs. Blues Game 4 odds and lines, and make our expert NHL picks, predictions and bets.

The Avalanche picked up a 5-2 road win in Game 3 to grab home-ice advantage back from the Blues after they dropped Game 2. It was costly, however, as the Avs lost D Samuel Girard to a season-ending sternum injury.

The Blues also suffered a costly injury in Game 3, as G Jordan Binnington was knocked out for the series due to a lower-body injury. G Ville Husso is back as the No. 1 goaltender, a spot he started in the first 3 games of this postseason.

Avalanche at Blues odds and lines

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated at 7:10 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Avalanche -170 (bet $170 to win $100) | Blues +135 (bet $100 to win $135)
  • Against the spread (ATS): Avalanche -1.5 (+135) | Blues +1.5 (-175)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 6.5 (O: -122 | U: -102)

Avalanche at Blues projected goalies

Darcy Kuemper (4-1-0, 1.99 GAA, .926 SV% – postseason) vs. Ville Husso (1-3-0, 3.38 GAA, .891 SV%, 1 SO – postseason)

Kuemper allowed 2 goals on 31 shots in the Game 3 road win in St. Louis. He has yielded 3 or fewer goals in each of his 6 starts so far in these playoffs.

Husso allowed 4 goals on 23 shots in relief in Game 3, but that’s a tough spot coming on cold to play for an injured starter. He has allowed 4 or more goals in each of his last 3 playoff appearances since his shutout in Game 1 at the Minnesota Wild.

[tipico]

Avalanche at Blues picks and predictions

Prediction

Avalanche 3, Blues 2

Money line

The AVALANCHE (-170) are rather moderate favorites, but this is going to be a close game. The Blues do not lose much, if anything, with Husso back in there instead of Binnington.

However, look for the offensive stars of the Avs to shine bright, grabbing a road win and forcing the Blues to the brink of elimination with a narrow win.

Against the spread

The BLUES +1.5 (-175) are worth playing if you’d like a little insurance. The road team has covered the puck line in each of the 3 games in this series so far, but St. Louis is desperate and will play one of their best outings of the series.

Over/Under

UNDER 6.5 (-102) is the play here. We should see the Avalanche take fewer chances, not allowing the Blues opportunities to get back into the series, and St. Louis will also be very careful. Scoring chances should be at a premium in this one.

St. Louis Blues at Colorado Avalanche Game 1 odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s St. Louis Blues at Colorado Avalanche Game 1 odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The St. Louis Blues and Colorado Avalanche meet for Game 1 of Western Conference Semifinals Tuesday at Ball Arena in Denver. Puck drop is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. ET (TNT). Below, we look at the Blues vs. Avalanche Game 1 odds and lines, and make our expert NHL picks, predictions and bets.

The Blues rebounded from a 2-1 series deficit to rattle off three consecutive wins to dispatch the Minnesota Wild in the opening round. St. Louis hopes for better success this time around against Colorado after getting swept out of the postseason in 2021 by the Avs.

Speaking of sweeps, the Avalanche won all four games against the Nashville Predators in the first round, last playing May 9. The Over cashed in three of the four games against the Preds.

Blues at Avalanche odds and lines

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated at 7 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Blues +175 (bet $100 to win $175) | Avalanche -220 (bet $220 to win $100)
  • Against the spread (ATS): Blues +1.5 (-130) | Avalanche -1.5 (+105)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 6.5 (O: -130 | U: +105)

Blues at Avalanche projected goalies

Jordan Binnington (3-0-0, 1.67 GAA, .943 SV% – postseason) vs. Darcy Kuemper (2-0-0, 1.63 GAA, .934 SV% – postseason)

Binnington was given the nod in Game 4 by coach Craig Berube in the Wild series, with his team down 2-1. After Ville Husso lost Games 2 and 3, the Blues needed a spark, and Binnington certainly gave them one. He won the final three games, allowing just five goals on 88 shots to clinch the series.

Kuemper was accidentally poked in the eye with a stick coming through his mask in the crease in Game 3. He left, and Pavel Francouz finished up. The swelling was still an issue in Game 4, but he has had over a week to heal, and he is ready to roll.

[tipico]

Blues at Avalanche picks and predictions

Prediction

Avalanche 5, Blues 2

Money line

The Avalanche (-220) will cost you more than two times your potential return in this opening game of the series. I expect Colorado to win this game handily, but it’s not worth the risk.

PASS, and look to the puck line first.

Against the spread

The AVALANCHE -1.5 (+105) are a better value at near even-money laying a goal-and-a-half.

Colorado has dominated this series, sweeping St. Louis last season in the first round, while winning six of the past seven meetings overall, and six of the previous seven battles in the Mile High City, too. The favorite has won 38 of the past 53, and the Avs will easily extend that streak here.

Over/Under

OVER 6.5 (-130) is a little pricey, but there is good reason to play it. First, the Avs could be a little rusty after a long layoff, plus their goaltender is returning from an injury and an even longer absence.

The Over is also 6-0 in the past six meetings between these teams. And the Over is 22-9-1 in the past 32 for the Blues, while going a ridiculous 13-2-1 in the past 16 on the road.

St. Louis Blues at Toronto Maple Leafs odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s St. Louis Blues at Toronto Maple Leafs odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The St. Louis Blues (28-14-6) travel to meet the Toronto Maple Leafs (32-12-3) Saturday at Scotiabank Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Blues vs. Maple Leafs odds and lines, and make our expert NHL picks, predictions and bets.

The Blues have dropped three of the past five outings, including a shocking 3-2 overtime loss in Montreal Thursday. Before that setback, the Blues offense had posted 14 goals in three games.

The Maple Leafs outlasted the Blues 6-5 Jan. 15 in a wild game, doubling up the total of 5.5 goals. Toronto picked up a 4-1 win against Pittsburgh last time out Thursday, and the Leafs have outscored the opposition 10-3 across the previous two victories.

Blues at Maple Leafs odds, spread and lines

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated at 7 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Blues +155 (bet $100 to win $155) | Maple Leafs -190 (bet $190 to win $100)
  • Against the spread (ATS): Blues +1.5 (-165) | Maple Leafs -1.5 (+130)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 6.5 (O: +100 | U: -125)

Blues at Maple Leafs projected goalies

Ville Husso (11-3-2, 1.91 GAA, .937 SV%, 2 SO) vs. Jack Campbell (23-7-3, 2.33 GAA, .924 SV%, 4 SO)

Husso has been consistent in between the pipes for the Blues, allowing three or fewer goals in each of his past 12 starts. He is 2-0-1 with a 1.98 GAA and .909 SV% in three starts in the month of February.

Campbell has been victorious in the past two starts, topping the Kraken and Penguins. The start against Pittsburgh Thursday was more impressive, as he stopped 45 of the 46 shots he faced, improving to 3-1-0 with a 2.25 GAA and .930 SV% in four February starts.

Blues at Maple Leafs odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Maple Leafs 4, Blues 3

Money line

The Maple Leafs (-190) are just a little too on the expensive side, as they get the Blues (+155) on home ice. Toronto should be able to get the job done after topping St. Louis on the road in a high-scoring matchup earlier in the season, but risking nearly twice as much as your potential return is not optimal.

PASS.

Against the spread

The BLUES +1.5 (-165) are a better play on the road. They can’t be trusted to win straight up on the road against one of the league’s best offensive units, especially after suffering a loss to lowly Montreal. However, St. Louis should be able to keep it close.

Over/Under

OVER 6.5 (+120) is a very good value at plus-money.

The Leafs have posted two or more goals in 12 consecutive games, kicking off the streak with the aforementioned 6-5 victory in St. Louis Jan. 15. The Over is 7-2 across the past nine outings for the Leafs. The Over is 3-2-2 in the past seven games for the Blues, too.

New Jersey Devils at St. Louis Blues odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Thursday’s New Jersey Devils at St. Louis Blues odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The New Jersey Devils (16-26-5) travel to meet the St. Louis Blues (26-13-5) Thursday at Enterprise Center. Puck drop is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Devils vs. Blues odds and lines, and make our expert NHL picks, predictions and bets.

The Devils posted a 7-1 victory against the Montreal Canadiens Tuesday in the second game of a back-to-back set after losing 4-1 at the Ottawa Senators Monday. That rout snapped a seven-game losing skid dating back to Jan. 22.

The Blues were topped 4-1 by the disappointing Winnipeg Jets Jan. 29 in the team’s last action prior to the All-Star break. St. Louis has still cashed in seven of the last 10 games overall despite that loss.

Devils at Blues odds, spread and lines

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated at 6:10 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Devils +205 (bet $100 to win $205) | Blues -260 (bet $260 to win $100)
  • Against the spread (ATS): Devils +1.5 (-120) | Blue -1.5 (-105)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 6.5 (O: +105 | U: -130)

Devils at Blues projected goalies

Jon Gillies (2-6-1, 3.15 GAA, .902 SV%) vs. Jordan Binnington (11-9-3, 3.27 GAA, .901 SV%, 1 SO)

Gillies was the beneficiary of 7 goals of offensive support in Montreal Tuesday and he turned aside 30 of the 31 shots he faced in the win. It was a complete 360 from his last performance Feb. 1 when he allowed 6 goals on 28 shots in 2 periods in a loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Perhaps nobody needed the All-Star break more than Binnington. He coughed up 13 goals in his final two starts before the hiatus, both losses, and he has allowed 4 or more goals in four of his past five outings.

Devils at Blues odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Blues 4, Devils 3

Money line

The Blues (-260) will cost you more than two and a half times your potential return, which is much too risky considering how shaky Binnington has been in the crease lately.

PASS.

Against the spread

The BLUES -1.5 (-105) are a much better value laying the goal and a half on the puck line. While Gillies was impressive last time out, that solid showing also came against a poor offense in Montreal. St. Louis has a much more powerful offense and is capable of making it a long evening for the rookie.

Over/Under

OVER 6.5 (+105) is a decent value at plus money, especially since Binnington has coughed up 4 or more goals in four of his last five games and Gillies has been a bit erratic in the New Jersey net.

The Over has cashed in three of the last four for the Devils with an average of 7.8 total goals per contest.
