São Paulo Grand Prix Sprint Race: Max Verstappen takes sprint win in Brazil

Max Verstappen is victorious yet again in the first racing action of the São Paulo Grand Prix weekend.

In what could be a forecast for tomorrow’s action, the Red Bull driver and current World Drivers Champion finished first across the line during Saturday’s sprint race. He qualified in second behind McLaren driver Lando Norris, but Verstappen had the better start and was able to beat him into the first turn. Norris finished second and Red Bull’s Sergio Perez came in third. The sprint featured some notable battles, including AlphaTauri’s Yuki Tsunoda besting Hamilton when the latter’s tires wore down toward the end of the sprint race. Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc also dispatched Hamilton toward the end, seeing him fall down the order.

Max Verstappen took home first in the sprint race, displaying pace that could certainly preview Sunday’s race.

It isn’t easy to win at the pinnacle of motorsport, but Red Bull Racing’s Max Verstappen certainly makes it seem like it.

Verstappen won the United States Grand Prix sprint race on Saturday, earning the maximum eight points available. Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton overtook Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc at the start to earn second while Leclerc had to settle for third. Mercedes’ George Russell was issued a five-second time penalty for overtaking McLaren’s Oscar Piastri off the track, resulting in him finishing
