The first spring of Steve Sarkisian’s tenure is on the horizon.
Texas announced its full spring practice schedule on Wednesday and it will officially begin on March 23. There will be 14 practices prior to the annual spring game on April 24.
Workouts have been taking place with the new staff over the last few weeks, but no official practices have taken place. Most will take place on Tuesday and Thursday with a Friday and Saturday mixed in there.

The biggest storyline across the 14 practices and spring game will be the quarterback battle between Casey Thompson and Hudson Card. Both will have an equal opportunity to become the heir to Sam Ehlinger’s throne. Thompson is thought to be in the lead at the moment, but it will be tough to count out Card.
Outside the signal callers, how Pete Kwiatkowski aligns his defense will raise eyebrows. Will he keep the mold of Chris Ash’s scheme or move into what he had success with at Washington. DeMarvion Overshown and Alfred Collins are just a couple of defensive players with locked down starting roles and there will be a few positional battles.
