Arnold Ebiketie’s and Jaquan Brisker’s NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year odds

What are Arnold Ebiketie’s and Jaquan Brisker’s NFL defensive rookie of the year award odds?

Penn State ended up seeing a good handful of its top defensive players from 2021 go on to be selected by multiple NFL teams in the 2022 NFL draft. Among the defensive standouts being drafted were defensive end [autotag]Arnold Ebiketie[/autotag] to the Atlanta Falcons and safety [autotag]Jaquan Brisker[/autotag] to the Chicago Bears. Both players were drafted in the second round, which means both are considered long-shot players to take home the NFL’s defensive rookie of the year award.

Former Penn State linebacker [autotag]Micah Parsons[/autotag] was the unanimous winner of the defensive rookie of the year award in 2021. But if Penn State is going to go back-to-back for the honor, Ebiketie or Brisker will have to overcome some tough odds in their rookie seasons.

Thanks to the odds released by Tipico Sportsbook, we know that the favorites to win the award next season are Oregon’s Kayvon Thibodeaux (New York Giants) and Michigan’s Aidan Hutchinson (Detroit Lions) at +450. Ebiketie is on the board at +4,000. Brisker comes in below that with +5,000 odds to win the award.

Former Penn State linebacker [autotag]Brandon Smith[/autotag] is listed at +8,000 with the Carolina Panthers. No other Penn State player currently appears on the odds from Tipico.

Best odds to win Offensive Rookie of the Year per Tipico Sportsbook

Check out the odds for Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson for Offensive Rookie of the Year honors. #GoBucks

The game of football is geared towards with offensive side of the ball. With the way the game is now, quarterbacks and wide receivers are the biggest benefactors.

This past NFL draft we saw just one quarterback in the first round but a total of six wide receivers take over the first 18 selections. Among the group were [autotag]Garrett Wilson[/autotag] and [autotag]Chris Olave[/autotag]. Fellow Big Ten pass-catcher from Penn State, Jahan Dotson was among the group.

Buckeyes Wire breaks down the top four skill position selections through all seven rounds. Wide receivers led the way with 28 total selections.

  • Quarterbacks-9
  • Running Backs-22
  • Wide Receivers-28
  • Tight Ends-18

Based on the way-too-early odds for Offensive Rookie of the Year per Tipico Sportsbook, Buckeyes Wire lays out the top names.

What are Derek Stingley Jr.’s latest odds to win Defensive Rookie of the Year?

Stingley currently has the sixth-best odds to be this year’s DROY.

Even in a draft class that was lacking in top-end talent, the Tigers managed to have one of their former players drafted in the top five as cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. was taken at No. 3 overall in the 2022 NFL draft by the Houston Texans.

Though Stingley hasn’t seen the field much over the last two seasons, expectations are high based on his dominant play when healthy as a true freshman in the SEC. He will likely be a Day 1 starter for Houston, and it makes sense that Stingley has among the best odds to become the NFL’s Defensive Rookie of the Year this season.

Per Tipico Sportsbook, Stingley has the sixth-best odds to win the award at +900. That sits behind Quay Walker, Devin Lloyd, Travon Walker, Aidan Hutchinson and Kayvon Thibodeaux.

Houston had a lot of needs that could have been addressed with that third pick, but the secondary was certainly near the top of that list. In Stingley, the Texans land the top corner in the draft with the potential to become a lockdown player in this league.

Where Kayvon Thibodeaux stand among those aiming for rookie of the year honors?

The 2022 NFL draft is now firmly in the rearview mirror, which means we can turn our focus to the upcoming football season. The biggest storyline to watch for Ducks fans revolved around the potential selection of edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux.

However, he did have to wait for his turn as he became the third edge rusher to come off the board following the selections of Georgia’s Travon Walker and Michigan’s Aidan Hutchinson. Interestingly enough, all five of the first draft selections came on the defensive side of the ball.

Thanks to the numbers from Tipico Sportsbook, we know which players are going to be favored in the chase for Defensive Rookie of the Year. Last year it was given to Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons. Is Thibodeaux the next in line?
