The USC Trojans (19-7, 8-5 Pac-12) head to Boulder, Colo., for a 9 p.m. ET tip-off against the Colorado Buffaloes (20-6, 9-4) at the CU Events Center. We analyze the USC-Colorado odds and betting lines, with college basketball betting advice and tips around this matchup.

Prediction

USC 68, Colorado 64

Moneyline (ML)

USC (+350) has six top-100 RSCI recruits on its roster compared to just one for Colorado (-455). It’s not like the Buffaloes are a more experienced squad than the Trojans: Colorado had four upperclassmen in its starting lineup last game, while USC had three upperclassmen, and they both have 1.7 years of average experience on their rosters. Place a small wager on USC (+350).

New to sports betting? Bet $50 on USC to profit $175 if the Trojans win outright.

Against the Spread (ATS)

This number is kind of confusing to me. Sure, Colorado -9.5 (-106) blew out USC +9.5 (-115) in their first meeting of the season, but USC has the best ATS winning percentage of any Pac-12 team. The Trojans have covered four straight games since their Feb. 4 outright and ATS loss to the Buffaloes. USC is 5-0 ATS in its last five games as an underdog and 4-0 ATS in its last four games overall. Plus, the road team is 6-2 ATS in the last eight meetings in this series. Bet USC +9.5 (-115).

New to sports betting? Bet $115 on USC +9.5 to earn a $100 profit if the Trojans lose by 9 or fewer points or win outright.

Over/Under (O/U)

The Under has cashed in back-to-back Colorado games, and six out of seven USC games, including three straight. More importantly, the O/U record is 0-7 for the last seven USC-Colorado meetings. The Trojans have the most Unders in the Pac-12 this season, so back the UNDER 137.5 (-115) since it correlates with our USC ATS/moneyline handicaps.

Eagles OC coordinator candidate Graham Harrell to remain at Southern Cal

Graham Harrell expected to stay at USC as Eagles continue search for offensive coordinator

The Philadelphia Eagles search for an offensive coordinator will continue on, as Graham Harrell reportedly will remain at USC according to Bruce Feldman.

Harrell is bowing out of the process days after Baltimore Ravens quarterbacks coach James Urban interviewed with the Eagles, and then opted to remain in Baltimore with the Ravens.

Internal candidates for the position vacated by Mike Groh include Eagles running backs coach/assistant head coach Duce Staley and possibly quarterbacks coach Press Taylor.

Notre Dame Football: A Twitter Check-In at USC

Let’s take a look at how USC fans reacted to their athletic director on twitter after news came down that Clay Helton was being kept as head football coach.

Last night we got word late from Bruce Feldman of Fox Sports/The Athletic that USC appeared to be keeping head coach Clay Helton.

Helton started strong with the Trojans, winning 27 of his first 37 contests.

He’s however fallen on hard-times, winning just 13 of his last 24 and entered this season very much on the hot seat after failing to go to a bowl game a season ago.

Official word did come down Wednesday afternoon that USC wasn’t in fact making a head coaching change at all and instead, Helton would remain in charge.

As you can probably guess, plenty of USC faithful were none too pleased.

Here’s what new USC Athletic Director Mike Bohn tweeted Wednesday afternoon.  Take a look and then we’ll check in on his mentions and see how USC fans are handling the news.

This should go over well – let’s check it out…

Report: Clay Helton Out at USC

Helton entered the year very much on the hot seat and no-doubt an 8-4 record with a bad loss at BYU, another loss to Notre Dame and a blowout loss to Oregon didn’t help his cause.

After an up-and-down season it appears change is on the way in Troy.

Sports Illustrated is reporting USC will let Clay Helton go, creating a very interesting job opening for Notre Dame’s biggest rival.

Helton entered the year very much on the hot seat and no-doubt an 8-4 record with a bad loss at BYU, another loss to Notre Dame and a blowout loss to Oregon didn’t help his cause.

The article lists Urban Meyer as USC’s top-target.

Even with the off-the-field issues he carries with him everywhere he goes, Meyer is a legendary football coach who would be a knockout hire.

Helton ends his USC run with a 40-21 overall record and a Rose Bowl victory at the conclusion of the 2016 season.

Helton started 21-6 in his first two full-seasons in charge but finished just 13-11 since the start of 2019.

Helton went 1-4 in his five games against Brian Kelly led Notre Dame, losing his debut in 2015 and winning in blowout fashion in 2016 before dropping the last three rivalry match-ups.

Stay tuned to FIW as this story and coaching search at Notre Dame’s biggest rival continues to develop.
