It didn’t take former Oklahoma receiver CeeDee Lamb long to record his first career 100-yard game in the NFL. However, Lamb had to reach the end zone through his first three NFL games.

On Sunday, that changed five minutes into the Dallas Cowboys’ game against the Cleveland Browns when quarterback Dak Prescott found Lamb from 43 yards out for his first career NFL touchdown.

After a shaky start to his third NFL season, former Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield helped the Cleveland Browns pick up their second straight victory after Sunday’s win over the Washington Football Team 34-20.

Mayfield completed 16 of 23 passes for 156 yards and two touchdowns in Cleveland’s win. Most importantly, Mayfield did not turn the ball over.

Mayfield’s first touchdown pass came with just 32 seconds remaining in the first when he connected with Kareem Hunt from nine yards out. That put the Browns up 17-7 entering halftime.

His final touchdown pass came in the fourth quarter after Washington had taken the lead. Mayfield found tight end Harrison Bryant on a three-yard score to put Cleveland up 24-20.

The Browns would never trail again.

Pittsburgh still leads the AFC North with a 3-0 record, while the Baltimore Ravens are right behind at 2-0 and they play tomorrow night against Kansas City.

Mayfield and the Browns travel to Dallas to face the Cowboys in Week 4.

Oklahoma’s Trent Williams traded from Redskins to 49ers

Former Oklahoma tackle Trent Williams was traded from the Redskins to the 49ers.

Former Oklahoma tackle Trent Williams was traded from the Redskins to the 49ers in exchanged for a 2020 fifth round pick and a 2021 third round pick on Saturday.

Williams has played for the Redskins all nine years of his professional career, making the Pro Bowl in all but his freshman and sophomore season with the team.

Despite reports that Williams denied a trade request to the Vikings, Vincent Taylor, Williams’s agent, argued that in a statement Saturday morning.

“No, that’s not true,” Williams told ESPN’s John Keim and Courtney Cronin.

“There has been false reporting that Trent and I objected to particular trades,” Williams’s agent Vincent Taylor said in a statement Saturday morning. “I will continue to respect the Redskins right to negotiate a trade and hope that the negotiations quickly lead to a trade that is in the Redskins best interest, Trent’s best interest and the interest of the other team.” ESPN first reported the story.

Now 31-years-old, Williams is joining a 49ers team that made a Super Bowl appearance last season under Jimmy Garoppolo’s quarterback play.

The Washington Redskins announced on Tuesday they will be exercising former Oklahoma running back Adrian Peterson’s 2020 club option.

The Washington Redskins announced on Tuesday they will be exercising former Oklahoma running back Adrian Peterson’s 2020 club option.

The 35-year-old was the featured back for the Redskins last season, leading the team in rushing yards with 898, attempts with 211, and touchdowns with five. He is the second-oldest player on the roster, and was a team captain for Washington last season.

Peterson has 14,216 total career rushing yards, which is good for fifth all-time among NFL running backs. He has 111 career rushing touchdowns, and has carried the rock a total of 3,036 times in his pro career.

Without Peterson, the Redskins running back room would be left up in the air. Derrius Guice and Bryce Love have plenty of talent, but both have histories of injury.

“Adrian Peterson is the epitome of what it means to be a pro in this league,” said Head Coach Ron Rivera. “Adrian’s leadership and passion towards the game of football will set an example of what is expected of the players in this program moving forward.”

Kyler Murray believes he could take on NFL, MLB at the same time

After a terrific rookie season in the NFL, one that could possibly even yield a Rookie of the Year award, Murray might still have his sights set on a feat few before him have attempted.

After a terrific rookie season in the NFL, one that might even yield a Rookie of the Year award, Kyler Murray might still have his sights set on a feat few before him have attempted.

Bo Jackson and Deion Sanders have most famously crossed over from professional football into baseball, and Murray could see himself on that list soon enough.

“I think I could,” he told the Arizona Republic. “Athletically, I think, yeah. I could do it. I’ve been playing both my whole life. I would love to add to that resume.”

Anyone that’s seen the 5’10” speedster play will have a hard time doubting his ability as well.

At Oklahoma, Murray ran wild on his way to the Heisman trophy. He threw for 4,361 passing yards on just under 70% completion and ran for 1,001 yards on 7.2 yard per carry, all while holding the title of 9th overall pick in the 2018 MLB draft. He was selected by the Athletics, earning himself a $4.66 million signing bonus.

“I don’t understand why in sports they try to marginalize it,” Murray told the Republic. “They try to make you pick one and I get it, but we’ll see. I think it would be fun. Right now, though, I’m just focused on football.”

In his rookie season with the Cardinals, he threw for 3,722 passing yards, 20 touchdowns and 12 interceptions while running for 544 yards and four touchdowns.

WATCH Former Oklahoma tackle Bobby Evans celebrate, break out Los Angeles Rams after big win

Former Oklahoma offensive lineman Bobby Evans had himself a day on Sunday for the Rams, and finished it with breaking out the Los Angeles Rams.

Former Oklahoma offensive lineman Bobby Evans had himself a day on Sunday for the Rams, and earned himself the honor of breaking out the team.

Evans was a three-year starter at Oklahoma, and was a vital part of a unit that won the 2018 Joe Moore award, the award for the best offensive line in the country.

Los Angeles drafted Evans in the third round of the last draft, 97th overall.

In his first ever start at right tackle, due to starter Rob Havenstein suffering a knee injury, Evans had the tall task of fending off NFL star Khalil Mack.

Evans did a phenomenal job, not allowing Mack to get to the quarterback. Along with his pass blocking, running back Todd Gurley ran for 97 yards and a touchdown behind the line in the 17-7 win over the Bears.

There is currently no timetable for Havenstein’s return from a knee injury, so for now the job looks to be Evans to lose.
