‘Ugly Sonic’ and his terrifying human teeth made a hilarious ‘Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers’ cameo

Seriously. This is amazing!

Ugly Sonic is back.

No, not the adorable Sonic the Hedgehog — which you can see above.

Let’s go back for a second to 2019. That was when the first trailer for the Sonic the Hedgehog movie dropped, and all people could talk about was how Sonic looked hideous with his human teeth. They were correct — the chompers were terrifying.

The movie was delayed and a much better-looking Sonic was inserted in its place.

Fast-forward to 2022. A very funny new Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers movie is dropping from Disney that looks like it’s a mix of a reboot and a parody of reboots and animation and whatnot.

Oh, and UGLY SONIC IS IN IT!

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 becomes highest grossing video game movie adaptation ever

Film sequel Sonic the Hedgehog 2 has broken its prequel’s record to become the most successful worldwide movie release for a video game adaptation ever.

Film sequel Sonic the Hedgehog 2 has broken its prequel’s record to become the most successful worldwide movie release for a video game adaptation ever. This is despite not yet being released in Japan, where you would assume SEGA would have some pull.

The gross comes in at $331.64 Million, surpassing Sonic 1’s $319.71 million, and making big cash for everyone involved. 4,234 theaters helped contribute, getting $71-million-and-change in the first three days in the US. It broke basically every video game film record in the US with regards to that.

Elsewhere, it was “No 1. in 47 markets” according to the press release including the UK, France, and Australia. SEGA also makes note of “strong sales” in Brazil and Mexico.

It’s also rather good, I’m anecdotally told by my friends. I’m yet to indulge in either film, assuming they would, you know, not be good because they’re film adaptations of video games, ones pretty squarely aimed at children. This has also prevented me seeing Detective Pikachu, apparently also a banger. We’ll get there.

Sonic 3 was already confirmed to be happening before the release of Sonic 2, and joins a Knuckles TV show in the works for 2023. Sonic Prime, a Netflix TV show, is also on the way.

Sonic Frontiers looks like Sonic meets Breath of the Wild

After months of speculation, we finally got a good look at Sonic Frontiers at The Game Awards 2021.

After a rather heavy-handed tease earlier this week, Sega has just unveiled the new Sonic the Hedgehog game at The Game Awards 2021: Sonic Frontiers.

Sonic news has been sparse over the last few years. While the first ever footage of Sonic Frontiers – which was unnamed at the time – debuted at Sonic Central 2021, there wasn’t a whole lot of information we could garner from it. All we really got to see were Sonic’s iconic trainers as he sprinted through a nondescript forest.

Now, seven months later, we’ve finally been given a more detailed look at what’s to come for the world’s fastest hedgehog.

As you can see from the clip above, it looks like rumors of the next Sonic game following a similar design ethos to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild were true. Admittedly we still haven’t seen any gameplay, but the environmental design and some of the shots in the trailer look like deliberate adages to Nintendo’s blockbuster.

Sonic Frontiers will mark the Blue Blur’s first new outing since the double whammy of Sonic Mania and Sonic Forces back in 2017. According to the trailer, it’s due to launch for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch in Holiday 2022.

Fans react to Idris Elba stating he’s not making Knuckles sexy in ‘Sonic The Hedgehog 2’

Sonic fans have thoughts on the matter.

Have you ever thought about a cartoon echidna’s sex appeal? Don’t answer that. Just know that many people are after Idris Elba said Knuckles wouldn’t be sexy in Sonic The Hedgehog 2. At least, he doesn’t think so.

However, the fans of both Knuckles and Elba seem to disagree already. Can you blame them? People Magazine  called him The Sexiest Man Alive in 2018, after all. Imagine holding that title and thinking people are just going to shrug off your claim that Knuckles won’t have a sexy tinge to his voice? The nerve!

You can watch Elba make this ludicrous statement for yourself below.

Sonic The Hedgehog 2  isn’t due out in theaters until April 8, 2022. So we’ll know for sure if Elba is telling the truth or just teasing everyone.

Safe to say, the reaction to Elba’s comments has ranged from chuckle-worthy to gut-bustlingly hilarious. Some fans are not buying it, while others claim they won’t see the film now, while others just shared plenty of good old memes. Check out the reactions for yourself below.
