Big Ten Matchups in the first-round of the NCAA Softball Tournament

The Big Ten will have a busy regional round in the NCAA Softball Tournament.

On Sunday, the Big Ten Conference saw seven teams selected for the NCAA Softball Tournament. Regional play for the tournament will occur on 16 collegiate campuses from May 20-22. Regional play is a four-team, double-elimination tournament with the 16 winners advancing to the Super regionals. The super regionals will occur from May 26-29, in which the 16 teams will play eight separate best of three series. Finally, the super-regional winners will advance to the NCAA College World Series from June 2-10 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Minnesota was the last Big Ten team to the Softball College World Series back in 2019. Michigan is the only Big Ten team ever to win the College Softball World Series, which they accomplished in 2005.
