Rockets announce new business partnership with Socios.com

The Rockets are partnering with Socios.com, a direct-to-consumer platform which leverages blockchain technology to engage with global fans.

The Houston Rockets announced a multi-year partnership with Socios.com, described by the team as a direct-to-consumer platform which leverages blockchain technology to provide the many of the world’s leading sporting organizations with tools to engage with global fans.

“Creating innovative engagement opportunities for our global fanbase is a priority for the Rockets,” said Gretchen Sheirr, president of business operations with the Rockets. “Socios.com’s unique approach is exciting for sports fans around the world.”

Houston’s deal with socios.com follows a jersey patch sponsorship agreement with Credit Karma Money. Both were finalized within weeks of Sheirr taking over the leading position on the business side of the organization, where she is effectively replacing former CEO Tad Brown.

“Another massive global sporting brand has joined the Socios.com roster”  said CEO Alexandre Dreyfus. “The Rockets are committed to creating amazing engagement opportunities for their fans around the world, and we’re excited by the big potential this partnership offers.”

Financial terms of the partnership were not disclosed.

As an official partner of the Rockets, Socios.com will be integrated into signage at Toyota Center and will have a heavy presence on the Rockets’ social media accounts, according to the team. This includes a regular spot as the presenting partner of Rockets Fan Art Friday.

The Rockets join Socios.com’s contingent of major sporting organizations across the globe, which includes soccer, Formula 1, mixed martial arts, esports, and cricket, according to the team. Socios.com says it plans to continue targeting more involvement with leading sports properties in the United States, Europe, Asia, and South America.

Celtics announce partnership with fan engagement experts Socios

The blockchain trailblazing, fan engagement specialists will be taking on a considerable front-facing role with the franchise.

The Boston Celtics announced their new partnership with the leading blockchain provider for the global sports and entertainment industry, Socios.com on Wednesday via a press release, who they plan on having as the presenting partner of the Celtics’ website.

This partnership will place it at the nexus of relevant news, updates, video highlights, and information pertaining to the team, coordinating with various Socios.com international marketing activities. Socios is perhaps best known for their “Fan Tokens”, which, while not yet part of the partnership agreement, represent a novel form of fan engagement that allow fans to vote for and otherwise influence team decisions.

“A large part of the Celtics brand is made up of the great fans that support the organization across local, national, and global levels, and we’re excited to find a partner that values fan engagement as much as we do,” shared Socios Senior Vice President Ted Dalton.
