Tre’Davious White, Micah Hyde named honorable mentions for PFF’s ‘ideal secondary’

So really, PFF was doing the opposite and giving quite the big shoutout to the Bills by naming two members of their secondary as honorable mentions on that list.

The Buffalo Bills have one of the elite secondaries in the NFL. It’s easy to think Pro Football Focus is overlooking that crew when labeling their “ideal secondary” but that’s a tough, tough squad to crack. So really, PFF was doing the opposite and giving quite the big shoutout to the Bills by naming two members of their secondary as honorable mentions on that list.

Those two were Tre’Davious White and Micah Hyde.

PFF names five guys to their list, including a slot cornerback into the equation. The first-team talents were the Patriots’ Stephon Gilmore, the Chargers’ Casey Hayward, the Chargers’ Desmond King, the Vikings’ Harrison Smith, and the Titans’ Kevin Byard. Also mentioned was a dime linebacker, with the Jets’ Jamal Adams landing that spot.

Again, a tough group the crack, but the honorable mentions for White and Hyde is certainly some big-time praise. White is fresh off an All-Pro season for the Bills while Hyde previously garnered Pro Bowl status with the Bills.

Along with Taron Johnson and Levi Wallace, the Bills added the likes of Josh Norman and EJ Gaines to the group this offseason. The team also locked up Jordan Poyer to a contract extension as well. Those moves secured both the short-term and long-term outlook of this unit in Buffalo.
